heres my problem, my high average is on thursday night (214) and my composite (5 leagues, 4 houses) is 206. but over the last few weeks i have noticed that my performance has been lacking as of late. Is this because its the end of the season? (the only other thing i can think of is that on my BIG league, our team average is like 1041 (second high on the league) but we havnt made any headway, and seem to lose alot to less skilled teams. (i.e. we WERE in second place but this past friday we we lost 3 of 4 points to a team with like an 850 average. we didnt bowl bad persay, but they were 700 pins over average as a team, and one of my buddies says how can i be mad??? well we just lost to the last place team, any other questions?

Its hard having a high average.:p
The high-handicappers who have improved their games are tough to beat! Particularly late in the season when their games have improved faster than their averages could keep up.
It is what makes bowling in league exciting. A man or woman with a 140-160 average can kick the 214 average guy's butt when they bowl a 180-200 score.
I still think the 214 guy is going to bowl more 230-240s than the 160 average guy is going to bowl 200's. So, things aren't so tough for the "scratch bowler".

Yeah, that's y my team won first place last year. My average was a 119, i threw my first 200 game and in the end was consistently bowling 150's. I wish i could say the same for me now. I'm doing horrible.

will be me taking my 2 kids to the lanes every Wednesday so I can work out the kinks in my game. 218 average. haven't hit that in 2007 yet. closest has been 642. need to work on timing, release..etc. Time to get "back to basics" and have fun with my kids too. Maybe make bowlers out of them.

This was my first year bowling (35yo so it's hard to learn new tricks) and started off really bad
Average at 146 right now, but over the past 7 weeks, I have been bowling consistant 170-190's (averaging about 177 over the 7 weeks) and am just feeling good about my game.
Funny thing is, I typically get matched up against one of the opponents top 2 guys to make them work for the points...Best thing for me is that this makes me try to bowl better...
The old dog is learning a few new tricks...
Our team hasn't fared very well though....we carry a big handicap, but several people just bowl at their handicap on a weekly basis (no improvements)
