Hey guys, i need some advice on a problem. I'm on a team with this person that i don't like. I wan't to do the summer league with someone else. Me and this person did the summer league last year together. I don't know how to tell him that i don't want to be on his team anymore. Also, i'm on the winter league with him. If i was with another one of my friends, we would decimate all because we feed off of each others energy. He was the one that started me in bowling and i think it is kind of wrong to just leave him. How should i go about doing this.

Play with the people you prefer to bowl with. Life is too short...:D
The other guy will deal with it. If he is upset, who cares, you don't really enjoy his company anyway.
Your commitment is for the season. After that, everyone is a free agent.

Yeah these last two weeks, we haven't been in good terms. It just got worse because i heard that he complains that i am too into bowling. I complain that he throws temper tantrums too much. So what if i am in too bowling.

EXACTLY the problem I have with him. I really like to bowl and I get into it quite a bit. He says it is only fun and me and my friend take it too seriously. So you know what, go have fun with another team while I kick your ass in head to head competition.

Correct. He's going to be on a team with other bowlers that are in it just for the fun.
While my team just wins.

Ok, it just stinks that he knows everybody on the other team. I am also not going to be on his team for next season also.

I once had that problem. Told the guy I would bowl with him so I finished the season. Had him one time walk up behind me on the approach trying to tell me how to pick up a spare. The clincher was on a different league night, I was bowling on a mixed league and he was on a men's league. I was working on my 11 in a row. He was trying to get action on betting I wouldn't make it.
What an a$$. This was in the telescore days also and he was one of those too good to take his turn at keeping score. Had a good laugh at him once. He shot a 287 and couldn't bring a 600. Team membership(unless someone is paying your league fees) is like a non-union job. Either party can severe ties for their own reasons.

Wow this is all so familiar. Your commitment is only for the current season, make your spring and next year plan now with out him and just let him know your already booked if he asks for you.
We had an ars on our team last year that brought every one down. He was replaced and this year is so much more fun. Maybe that's why I bowled a 300!

Well it should be easier now because we are not on good terms with each other right now. I already have my summer and winter booked then.

Get on a team with like minded people as yourself. You will enjoy bowling more and your average will increase. With enjoyable teammates it will rise quickly.

I feel your pain. I'm with a team this year that I definitely will not be with next season. I like them individually, but what I don't like is the fact that they're not competitive. They seem to be pleased just making their averages - whether we win or lose. We've been in the same position the ENTIRE year. As I mentioned months ago: I'm pretty sure they're in it just for the fun of it, I'm in it for both the fun AND competition.
I've been bowling (since January) on another league, and there is absolutely no comparison as to the fun (and level I raise my game) between the two leagues. I agree with the previous HammerHead who commented about the fact that bowling with people with the same interest as you definitely raises your game to an entire new level.
There is a ten pin difference in my average between the two leagues. As you can imagine: it's difficult staying motivated when you realize that no matter how well you bowl, your team will still end up in the same position.
Good luck!

easy problem...
leave him for another sexy girl... :D
seriously, if you don't like your partner, i suggest to get rid of him. bowling is supposed to be for fun and for the challenge... playing with someone you're not comfy with will ruin your focus and inspiration.

Yeah i am going to. Thanks hammerheads. I am definetly going to leave. I am going to tell him the last day of league so that he can't break my balls.:D
