So after reading this http://www.hammerbowling.com/news/detail.php?PRKey=84.
“Toxic showcases our brand new Traction Pearl in the proven Max-Flip Reactive coverstock to provide stronger reaction and improved consistency from shot to shot,” said Brian Graham, brand manager.
I bet this is a predecessor of the NV cover...

Interesting observation.
Hopefully, the Black Widow pearl will be the next in the line. If I could mix my BW and my Toxic I am not sure I would need any other balls in the arsenal.:D
But, you know me, I will probably have two 6 ball rollers full of strike balls by the time the BW Pearl comes out.

Ditto. I plan on having at least two more balls by then.:D

That is one of top good things about being an adult with a job, a wife, no kids and a house.
My wife is a new clothes and shoes addict. Her hobbies are just about as expensive as mine. (Its close)

My wife is a new clothes and shoes addict. It is easy to get her approval for new bowling ball or accessories since she is already planning her next purchases too.:D
Yeah, when i go to college and get a job, if i have any extra money, i'm going to get a new arsenal or some balls to add- on.

Probably very similar coverstock. Most of us are not buying every ball we want.

I've had this conversation at the center a few times...
them: "Wow you have a lot of balls"
me: "Yep, the perks of being gainfully employed and single with no kids"
them laughing: "Enjoy it, once you get an old lady it's over"

The BWP isnt going to have the traction pearlized coverstock tho it doesnt say it does it says something like ultraviolent reactive pearl.
The NV is an awesome ball and i dont use my toxic as much anymore cause i cant get it to hook anymore i have cleaned it and everything and just want to use it again since i have a 700 with it.....it is an extremely good ball but my heart is still with my NV and crossfire.
i will be getting the BWP tho right when it comes out and i will be done getting a bowling ball for a very very long time (or atleast thats what i tell my wife lol)
but yes the NV just hooks ALOT i mean ALOT more than the toxic

Well put sir! The grass is always greener on the other ball. But how may balls in your bag do the same thing?
You will probably become a better bowler if you learn to throw the same ball on different conditions. I use three balls but I think a skilled bowler could get away with two strike balls one for light -medium and on for medium heavy...

I have a good one who loves to bowl. In fact, I'm getting two more balls this summer, and I'm buying her two new ones. All Hammers, of course.

Yeah, i had that problem. I have the passion and a scorchin for heavy oil, my light oil ball died. So in a recent tourny, i was on the 11th game on that oil, i had no where to go, i am not very good at playing deep with a lot of speed. I had my passion polished, i need to start carrying around my 3-d offset.

LOL. I never said I needed a new ball. I bring a bunch of balls to the lanes but try to stay with one ball as long as possible once I start. As I familiarize myself with the different balls layouts and their characteristics I make educated guesses based upon the responses I am getting on the lanes.
______________
Also, I am getting a couple of heavy oil set ups for PBA experience league. I want some balls that have different look than my usual for dealing with the different patterns. I noticed Tommy Jones was using one of my old favorites the Ebonite Ice on the Cheetah Pattern on the Roll to Riches. I plan on getting my Ice shined up to play up the 10 boad on the Cheetah.

BTW: I have not watched the entire Roll to Riches on my DVR so I have not seen Doug Kent throwing whatever Vibe he chose to use in the match(es) he played to win the whole thing.
