I used a wrist brace for the first time yesterday. Normally I use 15lb balls but I found them too heavy with the brace on so I had to drop to a 14lb instead.

Is this usual? I suppose locking your wrist/hand into a certain position will take a bit of getting used to but I was surprised all my 15lb'ers felt like lead. Also I found that although they are comfortable to hold with a naked wrist, they all felt like they were very slightly overspanned when used with the brace.

Just as well I took the 14lb along.

I agree with you on the ball feeling more comfortable without a wrist brace,,,,,
when I've tried one the ball ALWAYS feels like it is sitting "up & off" of my hand, a very unnnatural feel. I also noticed that the ball would fall off of my hand at release or if it didn't, I had far fewer rotations on the ball.

your span will slightly change when using a brace...i recently started using the robby revs II and it's working out great...it did take some time to get used to...it felt like i was going to drop the ball on my backswing...now i can feel the difference...it's helped me with my wrist positioning and release even when im not using the brace....

Yeah, when I started using a robby revs, I had trouble with it. It didn't feel right and I would drop my ball on the backswing. When I questioned my pro shop guy, he resized my hand while I was wearing it and ended up redrilling my hawg. It felt great ever since.
