Hi All...

I punched a NM layout 1 (Very Strong), but I've made a little mistake... my 1st ring of oil was at 2.5" from my thumb and I put the HART at 1.5", so what do you think this will affect the NM "Very Strong" behavior??

I rolled it in a fresh standard heavy oil house condition, and didn't see the "very strong" behavior, so I tamed down to 2000 and I will be rolling it again this weekend. But I don't know how critical is mistake I've made.

Any insights, comments will be appreciated!

Thanks!

I just picked up a NM so I'm up to date on the drilling options. Brillant!

The more important question is how far is the PIN to your PAP?

For the any of the recommend drillings that distance needs to be at least 4 inches. Anything under that will reduce the amount of flair. (ie less hook)

The position of the hart will affect the shape of the ball's reaction. If you look the NM drilling sheet the more aggresive reactions have the hart closer to the track.

It's possible your driller put the Hart @ 1.5'' because the negative weight of the ball was maxed out. I ran into that problem with my NM.

Thanks!

My Pin-PAP distance is "almost" 4" ... I'll work on ball's surface 'till I get the (close to) desired reaction...

By the way I'll carry this ball to Reno early may... and for what I've been reading so far I'll better put 1000g on it... :D

I'll let you know how it worked... :)

i have a no mercy and its drilled with the #4 drilling i had it taked down to 2000grit as it wasnt rolling very well and it still rolls snakey u can see the ball wobble as it goes down the lane like its fighting to hook but wont, ive got a black widow with the mulit purp drilling and it out hooks my no mercy by a good 8-10boards

do u think its the #4 drilling ( the cg is about 2inch from the pin) is not right for my pin

would the #1 drilling make much diffrence to the way the ball rolls?

i wanted it 2 be a long arc

The #4 drilling appears to be the weakest of the drillings on the sheet. It actually says for light oil. A NM on light oil, that must be quite a sight...

It might be a good idea to chat with your driller about one of the other suggested drillings.

NM and light oil, is that an oxymoron?

i use it on medium oil, ( high rev rate bowler i think:confused: ) but it over/under racts all the time were my widow is so smooth ALL the time
bowled 721 and 682 last 2 thursdays with my widow :D
