Help deciding

Thinking about including hammer in my arsenal. Was thinking about the road hog. I bowl on synthetic lanes mostly and currently use weapons from other manufacturers. Don't know if I am allowed to mention them here or not, so I won't be not bad products. Looking for a consistantly hard hitting ball in the pocket that is not to skid/flippy. I pitch about 14.5 to 15.5 mph comfortably med revs med flare and a tweener. Throw 15 pound equipment. Would road hawg be a good choice? Or what do you recommend? My son is 12 and a very good bowler averages about 170-180, also thinking about hammer for him as well. Throws about the same as I do. Can you help us?

IMO, that will depend on what you want to spend. I know a guy, has done a test with changing covers on the Doom for a 2 or 3 ball lineup and is very happy with the results. You can build a good line up with that mid priced ball.

I am/was an Ebonite guy, Xcel, XXcel and wanted to give Hammer a shot. Got the Hawg Wild and loved that ball, until the return decided to put the Grand Canyon 3/4 around it, I almost cried...! The Hawg Wild is a great ball for med/heavy to med oil, very hard hitting, nice line and , mine at least, accepted a cover change nicely. I'm more a down and in , but it made the turn and had it's own 'eyes' for the pocket. I will be replacing the Hawg Wild and have a Road Hawg due in today.

IMO, just about the best balls going for med to med/heavy would be the Hawg Wild, Road Hawg or the Doom. Take a look at those and see which would fit you and your son. Hope this helped.

I got the Road Hawg and I think that it is the best Hammer ball in about 10 years. I love the way that it rolls and it gives you the same reaction every time. I have been throwing it between 9 and 12 games a week for a month and have not seen any change in it.

The Hawg series is the best out for hammer. I have all 3 hawgs and love em! Deffinitly a great arsenal for 10 pins. Road Hawg has great hook and backend and is great for the average 15/16 mph thrower. I think if you purchase it, you like it.

AHHH, THE ROAD HAWG.. The best ball I have rolled in ages. It is consistent and hits hard.. I drilled mine with the ring finger over the pin and about 1" off CG and love it.. Doom is a good ball but I find with carry down it will not finish quite as well. BUT take a piece of scotch brite and gently wipe the wide area of flare on the top and bottom of ball and it will work great...

I haven't bowled with hammer for any more than 2 years and over this time i have continually been extremely thrilled with very ball i have purchased...Currently my Road Hawg is my number 1. Beautiful roll and gives a beautiful smack into the pocket for a never dying carry.

i bowled my second 300 with my Road Hawg, the ball is simply amazing, it rolls great and hits like a truck, i dont have 15 games on the ball and i have 2 300...its almost like cheating
