I would like to first say that I know that I am not the only one with this issue but, Locally I know of others and would like to see if it really is a Wide spread problem. Both particle balls that I own <Hawg, RGP> And others that are out there seem to die off after about 40-50 games or so. Is this really a widespread issue and if so what has anyone found that really works to fix the problem?? I haven't cooked the resin out of my ball at the shop yet, nor have I used the Ebonite Hook-it system. I do clean my equipment after each session. Any ideas?
Thanks, and Roll On!!

thats not the problem with mine, i have a Razor blade, and thats the Cut Thoart Coverstock same as the Hawg, in 1 week i bowled i bowled about maybe 50-60 games with it, and about that i had bowled about 20 games maybe and after that it was still hooking, i just sanded it down again, and it was hooking but my revs went up so i polished it, and now is still hooking the lane
I currently have all particle balls. I carry an Ebonite XXcel, Hammer Big Deal, Hammer Doom, Hammer Big Blue Pearl, and the blue spare...I've had the Big Blue Pearl the longest, so I've thrown more games with it (probably at least 100), and while it has become my spare ball (polished), I've noticed really no difference in reaction because of use. I've got around 35 games with the BD, and probably 20 with the Doom, so they aren't at the point when things 'supposedly' go downhill. I keep them well cleaned, which should make them last longer. Interesting case in point: I had an old Jack Hammer in high school that I used for literally hundreds of games, and wasn't a 'serious' bowler then, and never once cleaned it (I won't be caught dead using a ball for a frame and not cleaning it now). But, it was a particle ball as far as I know, and it never lost any reaction. I won two tournaments with it. So, as far as I can tell, it's a crapshoot. A good ball is a good ball...

Maybe the house that I'm bowling in is really the one having the issues.... I know that at least once a week they layout a sport shot. Maybe just maybe the mechanics are not setting the layout back to what it should be. Let me go out and throw these balls at other houses and see if there is a difference. Thanks for replying!

Have to go, but real quick, yes i've had the same problem with my saw blade...died after about 80-100 games. Tried different methods, didn't help. I will never buy particle again.

Generally a particle ball will die faster than a reactive ball. Have heard that hook again will work, but instead of the normal 24 hrs treatment, you need to have it done for 48 hrs, and resurfaced before the treatment.
What do you use to clean with?

I generally use Powerhouse energizer to clean it after bowling but when I take it to the shop I use Clean and dull on it. I did take the ball to another house and not much difference in the reaction. I will try to see about using the Hook agian system to see if that works. I do have one compliment on the ball that when I did first have the ball I didn't think there was a condition out there oily enough for it! LOL Thanks agian everyone!
