OK, who here has a good practice regimen. I try to practice at least once per week. Some have told me that I practice too many games, but if I don't throw my six games of practice during a session, I just don't feel good about it.
Besides, I don't have any problems as a result of it. I'm in shape enough for it and I bowl at a very fast pace, taking breaks only when I really need it.
I don't know if my habit is totally healthy for my game, but it definitely helps my confidence level and makes me a lot more consistent, especially with my spares.
Usually, I just work on my approach, release and target. Sometimes I play around with different lines, but I've found that the more inside I move and try to play in the middle, the more I struggle to carry.
What do you do for practice?
BTW, our lane manager is a very good (although not yet certified) teacher. He's very good at giving me feedback and ideas on how to fix things. Not to mention, he's a very good bowler. The best part is that he doesn't charge for his advice. Our pro is not a teaching pro, so it's not like he's taking business away from him.

I am terrible at practice. I used to practice at least once a week. Since I have been bowling 4 leagues I maybe get out once every other month to practice. I am not proud of this and hope I will find time to practice at least once a week starting ...... welll .... next week.

I practice 3 times a weak, usually 8-10 games. If I have more time, I practice more. But its just that, practice, I usually have something im working on, and not just bowling for score.

IMHO...
The trick to a GOOD practice is to not only go in there hoping to strike everytime, but work on your spare shots as well. I usually devote at least 1 game (usually 1.5) to spare shooting.
2 x 10pin shots
2 x 6pin
2 x 3pin
2 x 2pin
2 x 4pin
2 x 7pin
I usually end up making it 3 tho. Afterall, if you can't pick up your spare you're worthless anyway. Then I work on strike shots with hand positioning. Also, I try to go on days of the week when I know the oil will be different. There's one day a week I come in right after a geriatric league and there's always a metric asston of oil on the lanes. Then, one day dry. Same regimen above. That way I'm getting the most out of my practice time.
The worst way you can practice is to imagine that you're competatively bowling. Instead work on your mechanics and technique. Save the bowling for scores for league/tourny's.

I dont really time to practise anymore...

I bowl and practice quite a bit...
I bowl league Monday and Tuesday nights, pot games Sunday mornings and lessons with my coach every 2nd or 3rd weekend.Outside of that, I try to have 1 or 2 practice sessions a week, depending on my work schedule.
My coach gives me pretty specifc things to work on between sessions so I'll pick one or two to practice.
This is a typical practice session for me.
1 game of "corner pins" alternating shots of 7s and 10s
1 or 2 games of "item 1" ie 45 degree release
1 or 2 game of "item 2" ie 90 degree release
1-2 games of "moving arrows"
The idea here is to start throwing over the first arrow and make adjustments until you make two "good" strikes. Then you throw over the second arrow and make adjustments until you throw two "good" stikes and move to the third...etc etc
There is another way to play this game. Again you start throwing over the first arrow until you make two "good strikes" but this time you switch balls and continue to throw over the first arrow until you get two "good" strikes. Then you can switch to a third ball and repeat or move to the second arrow with the first ball.
The idea here is to learn how your each of your balls react. I just learned this second way to play and it's challenging!
At 5 or 6 games, that's enough for one practice.

That's a pretty structured regimen. I may try some of those ideas.

Slap/anyone else:
Can you share what the 45 degree and 90 degree release are?

Yeah, I'm kind of a logical thinker. My HS football coach drilled the slogan "Let's Pratice with a Purpose men" into my head.

OH, I just threw those in as an example.
That has to do with how far your fingers rotate when you release the ball. It changes the axis rotation of the ball, which makes the ball hook more or less.
0 degrees or 6:00 using the clock system would be no turn, so the ball would roll end over end
45 degress or 7:30 is normal
90 degress or 9:00 is the most turn.
I'm just learning this stuff and so far I can't do a full 90 degrees without spinning the ball. I'm starting to think the point isn't to reach 90 just more than 45.

Do u mean that when u try and do a 90 release, u end up topping the ball.

Yep that's my issue.

Yep that's my issue.
Then that is probably what i am trying to do because i usually top the ball. I am going to practice the 50 degree release to stop that.
Like everything else I realize it's going to take practice.

Yeah, i still don't have a consistent release yet because i seem to want more hook and more hook. Then i started to top it and i've been trying to find one that i won't top it with.
