I put some vids of my form and stuff up on youtube... sorry about the quality.
Feedback anyone?
(BTW, these were for a school project, that's why they're all overdone...)

Well, I'm not the greatest bowler in the world, but you asked.

First, you have good form (for the most part) nice and repeatable. One thing I think you could work on is staying down and stable at the line. (the step you take to the right after delivery) If you have a coach, I'm sure he/she has pointed this out at one time or another. One other thing, I'd like to see you throw staighter at your spares. Also, one of my biggest irratants, wait for the setter to leave the deck before you start your spare attempt. I don't know why that bugs me, but it really does!!

Just remember... spares are a HUGE part of the game. Use the same concentration on your spares as you do on your strikes. Looks like you have a great foundation going, keep it up and you'll have alot of fun and a alot of great scores ahead.

Nice video -- I only watched the first one. Perhaps I will watch more later. I like the shot and line you are using. I agree with Rugdoc that you'll be more consistent if you can hold your form at the line. It seems like there is a little hitch at the end that might cause losing a little power. Maybe try throwing down more than out with the ball to get it down soooner. I am no expert and perhaps that thing I am seeing as a hitch or hesitation is an important part of the shot.

Perhaps non-slide foot coming around back will keep you steadier. Your toe tapping on line with non-slide is probably what I do. Does that lead to you wearing out toe on non slide shoe? On second viewing there are a lot of shots that you end up balanced. There are like 1/4 or perhaps more that you are falling to the right. Same thing with the hesitation/hitch. Sometimes you get the ball down really clean. Other times when you loft it there appears to be brief hesitation there.

Again, thanks for the posting of the video. I like what you are getting the ball to do.

Thanks guys...

Overall, ur video looks pretty good. The only thing that i don't like is that u don't throw straight at ur spares. Trust me it will be a lot easier.

Lol... I've tried for a long time to throw straight at certain spares. My coach is still teaching how me to send the ball straight without putting hand in it. I can do it for ten pins, but I'm kind of 50/50 on everything else... I agree with you though, it should be easier when I get the hang of it.
BTW, that 7 pin in the middle of the first vid is in there just for fun, I don't usually hook the entire lane at them. :D

Ok. I was wondering that. Because if u miss inside by a little, ur going to miss it.

I know, I've experienced the missing of many 7 pins first hand. :D

I usually throw a much tamer hook at it...

Ok. I mean, u can throw ur spare ball very good. You should just throw it for all spares.

Yeah, i don't really use my spare ball that much. I have learned to throw my strike ball straight.

Do you see something potentially harmful?

How do you guys get your thumb to get out so damn quickly??
I know I need a coach, but my biggest problem is that I cant get my thumb out...will getting an oval thumb hole (i got a flat wide thumb) help it?

Your thumb hole has a lot to do with it, but so does your grabbing it. :D

Seriously though, it takes a while, but after good practice and good coaching, you learn how to just let the ball go.

Trust in yourself!! I had the same problem! If your thumb hole is drilled correctly and your span is correct, then you just need to train your thumb to relax and you won't drop it! You will see a lot more consistency!

Right now my biggest problem is my damn thumb hole...I've had so many problems with it. I've had my widespan done different on 4 different balls, the best one so far is the widow.

My thumb isnt coming out cleanly, because I need an oval hole. My thumb is very wide, so as a result I have a huge thumb hole, and I dont need the thickness the way it is, so I got an awkward thumb situation. Last night I finally got the thumb to slip out right.

(drier lanes...like medium-dry) I threw my Widow out to the 3 board and it midlane snapped into the pocket...I kept getting really really really scared i was gonna gutter. I'm starting to get better on timing, I'm not lofting like i used to. My spare game is gonna get so much better this summer, I'm just gonna devote a ton of time to throwing straight with the plastic. My home alley is giving me free practice for bowling in a summer league.

Once I get a job I'm getting a coach...it'll take a while. I still gotta send in paperwork for a workers permit then go apply at a couple alleys, then I'll get a coach.
