What should you do if you miss a ten pin in the gutter and the ball bounces out and hits it?

WOW.... Someone would actually do this?? USBC is having all kinds of problems with integrity for the sport of bowling and someone wants to increase their score by not changing it to the right score. I personally think, if this happens, that this person has no respect for the game of bowling... and as a person, has absolutely "NO CLASS" whatsoever..... Isn't this against all USBC rules ?? Why, if your a bowler, even consider not changing the score to what it should be ?? I have seen this happen before... very tasteless someone would "CHEAT" to try to win !!!

I highly Agree. Bowling is the best sport. Let us keep it that way.:)

barneydabunny ...... the rule is if the ball goes in the gutter, the ball is dead and can not knock down any pins. If the ball comes out of the gutter and knocks down pins, there should be "NO" score for that ball. Just curious, is there a reason why you are asking ?? Like I said before, it has happened to me and cost me some money ... not sure what I should have done (did not find out til after all bowling was done....hear say and from many sources -- a bunch of us went to bowl as a group). I should have reported the individual to tournament officals or the USBC (then ABC) and let them apply the appropiatte penalty !!!!! Just flat out "CHEATING" and no room for these people in the sport of bowling !!!!!

qwerty, it seems that I am going to be have to make a phone call to the USBC on Monday concerning this matter. The polesters have decided for me, and a couple others who seem to think it is alright to cover up such CHEATING. If by chance you knew me and the folks who were trying to cover this up and MAKE ME look like the bad guy you would understand this,,if it was me that had done this "they" would have ALREADY called the USBC and posted my name over countless message boards across the internet.... maybe not the individual who actually accepted this to his score,,but the other trying to cover it up sure would have.

first of all, it means I am stinking, so to speak, if the ball falls in the gutter (of course it happens from time to time to all of us)... second of all, I cringe at the thought of what type of dammage my inaccuracy just did to my ball. Most of the time my tuff earns it name but every now and then there is a little scar to remind me of my lapses in concentration.

Suppose your league bowling and it happens. You bring it to the other teams attention and because it won't affect the outcome of the game, they tell you not to worry about it. Would you insist that they change the score or would you accept it? As you can probably tell by the question, I don't know how to change the score on the computer myself.

How can you expect them to support you when it goes the other way like the machine scored 7 when it was really 8. On the tournament circuit, this is a major concern when Director's ae not watching like hawks. THe strength of the game is built on trust and honor... when was the last time you locked up your bowling gear at a bowling alley? Bowlers are for the most part honest, as this poll shows, but there is always the 1 guy you need to beware.

Now, if you dont understand, just be quiet, it is really that easy, everyone knows you did what you did and your teammate accepted what he accepted... I was done with this many moons ago...dont try to make me look like the bad guy here.... it is done,,,get over it.
