Well just got back from league and damn my game is way off... I have been weaking my approach and slowing down... Hit pocket 30 out of 36 times but i just cant get that damn 10 pin... 9 10 pin opens... blah... still shot decent though... 202, 188 (4 opens from 10 pin) 223 (2 10 pin opens) ugh... So shot a 613 which I am pretty frustrated about seeing how I felt I was really comfortable tonight... Any advice for helping ten pin it would be appreciated...

I used to have nothing but problems from 10 pins... then I got a polyester ball... problem solved.

X2, best 60-70 you can spend. Shot 10's the same at every house.

I had some problems with ten pins, but those problems are slowly starting to go away. I got a Black Hammer, but the problem is that it needs a slug because I took it to a different place to get it drilled and they drilled my thumb too big. I tried 2 different balls at this one place and they screwed the thumb up both times. Anyways my advice would be to go get a WD or something.

Well thats what im using for my spares is the original faball black hammer... I was just wondering if you guys had a certian practice for your ten pin shots... I seem to be covering everything else...

Move up 6 to 8 inches on your approach and you will carry the 10 pin.

might want to move up or back depending if its hiting hi move up about 6 in,late back,or board one way or another to change angle in to pocket,or ball may be hooking through pocket,lot of varibles,check here for tips http://www.bowl4fun.com/ron/roncarchive.htmgood luck,KEEP HEAD UP AND PINS DOWN :cool:

Well that was happening to me when i was younger. It was with my hot rod hybrid. I was throwing too slow to be able to get the ten out. When i sped up a little, i started striking a little more.

I use practically the same setup and approach as my strike shot

stand right foot on center dot, throw from 15-16 over 10 with no hand into the delivery and it swings out to the 3rd or 4th board and dies down the line....I have improved from a 25% 10-pin shooter to nearly 60%....

Anything left of the 10 pin is a sitting duck

once someone figures out a way to carry the 10-pin they change the rules so you can leave it again. 10 pins (7 for lefties) will always be there, moving forward or backward on approach helps, changing the angle the ball enters the pocket helps. But their are no cures for 10 pins other then make the spare and make your best shot possible the next time. I don't think anyone can say they don't leave 10 pins or 7 pins, they seem to be part of the game. Look at this way...its gives you another chance to succeed - make the spare. most importantly don't let the corner pins destroy your game as they do for some people...keep your cool.

For the 10, move left til your shoulder is in further than your strike mark. Throw strike mark hard. (I throw my 10 pins by moving to the last two dots and throwing my strike mark, either third arrow or inbetween third and second depending on lane condition.)

10 pins, yep, I hate them. I can't tell you how many times I've been celebrating my strike only to peer back over my shoulder and see that 10 pin staring at me. My brother really gets a kick out of watching my face after that happens.:D
