I had to get a Maxim. My proshop only carried the Clear Skull, a Zone and Maxim's.. He couldn't get his hands on a Tuff and honestly I didn't want to wait for it, I needed it by Monday for start of PBA League.. I know its not a Hammer and it is only a Spare Ball, but I am kinda excited!!

Just playin', but I got my spare ball, thought it wasn't gonna be ready til' Monday, but now I have time to work on my spares!! I threw it a couple times yesterday and did pretty good(didn't realize it wouldn't hook at all, lol)..

Am I weird for lining up on 10 and throwing at my 10 pin, I picked it up almost every time yesterday for 2 games, it was all I was shooting at.. I will probably get laughed at for doing that, because everyone goes cross alley at it, but I just wanna know if that is weird?

before I had a spare ball I would throw my No Mercy like that!

worked every time until my wrist started to hurt from doing (I guess keeping it flat like that and putting the power behind it caused it)

I now throw my Tuff cross alley over the middle arrow and it's alot easier.

Problem I get is knowing when to throw my spare ball.

Right side only? Single pin only? Etc.

I think the theory on going cross alley at the 10 pin is to give you more margin for error. If you are shooting at 10 board you probably have a one board margin for error to either side?

When it comes down to it when going cross lane you do not have tons of margin for error. You need to have confidence and hit your mark.

That is why using spare ball frequently on more than just 10 pin is good idea. You want to feel absolutely confident when the spare ball is in your hand that you have ability to hit your mark.

BTW: I am working this out in my own mind as much as sharing information. I have been only using spare ball for 10 pin but believe I will be better bowler if I become more proficient with it in my hands on almost every spare.
