The Hawg Wild comes in 4000 grit abralon. What is that?, and why do people take it down to 1000 grit abralon?

Abralon is Ebonite line of sand paper basically. Is suppose to be different, than sand paper.

Oh, so 4000 grit abralon is more or less friction than 1000 grit abralon? Thanks:)

Yes, 4000 is a smoother finish than 1000. Once you put polish (let us say
2000) on a ball w/4000 finish it surely will go longer to your breakpoint but with clean backends the stronger turn. Hope this helps.
