Brett you're coach has probably told you this already but what allowed me to get forward roll consistantly was to make sure the inside of my elbow stayed parrelled w/my body thru my release.

To start with, I spread my pinky and index fingers out, almost like 'palming' the ball. I also try to keep my thumb from between 11:00 and 12:00. If I think the hook is a little aggressive my thumb moves closer to 12:00, thereby creating more forward roll for me. If I feel the need for a little more hook, I rotate my thumb toward 11:00, and that gives me a touch of side roll, creating a little more hook into the pocket.

Fit is obviously a big deal here. You may also want to check your span and finger/thumb pitches with your local pro shop, just to make sure everything is lined up for what you want to do. It may sound silly, but My spans were reversed for a few years before my current pro found the problem. The other pro transposed the forfinger and ringfinger spans. It wasn't pretty.
