I need some info on the Big Blue

Has anyone used the Big Blue on heavy oil. If so, what's your opinion?

I have a big blue but it is polished.
I have used it in heavy oil but it is not really designed for this condition with this surface.
However, I would recommend you go for a higher hook-rating ball than the big blue if you want something for heavy oil.

I tried the Big Blue at two hammer challenges that I went to, it looks like it would work better on medium oil. Even though
it has a particle coverstock IMHO I think the Big Blue Pearl would work better in heavy oil. I have one and I had it drilled full leverage and it works great in heavy oil.

Ok, here goes my 2 cents. The BIG BLUE is not supposed to be this huge hook monster. It is supposed to perform the way the original Blue Hammer did back in 1992/93. It has been revamped not for more hook but to hook the same way with today's modern oil, which is slicker and longer lasting. The BIG BLUE is for medium to medium-heavy; note the hyphen. Medium-heavy is not the same as Heavy. BIG BLUE is for a consistant, smooth, AND controlable hook. The Differential is only 0.026, which is fairly low=small hook/flare potential.

Predictability is the key word here. If you are proficient in throwing highly angular skid flip balls using this ball is a step backwards. If you are just learning to throw hook or are a straight or classical style bowler, this just may be the ball for you.
