A teammate of mine was expressing to me the importance of the ring and middle fingers. He's a 200 bowler,I'm trying to learn all I can from him.I want to learn alot from him but have my own way of bowling at the same time. He's more or a tweener I'm more of a stroker,he gets the ball way out on the lane it lands around the arrows sometimes further.I think to myself sometimes that's not coming back then it just screams back into the pocket.Long story short what have you guys learned over the years? to lift more with the ring and middle or to actually rip through the ball with those 2??? thx

It's a good idea to know how to throw your ball both ways. Then you can pick whats working best on any nite, any lane.Remember, all the score sheet asks is how many pins you knocked down, not HOW you got 'em!Bet if you learn both ways to roll that rock, pretty soon that 200 guy is gonna be asking YOU for tips!!!:D

I personally find it to be the best with not really ripping through the ball or applying a ton of lift. Lately I've been getting alot more revs than usual and I'm applying less lift than usual, but not ripping through with the two fingers. An early release with the thumb is good, plus laying down the ball will give you some revs without having to rip through with the fingers.

Couldn't agree more.Ever notice when you really try to put the big,bad shot on the ball it turns out to be one of the worst balls you throw all nite? You wind up trying to steer the thing instead of relaxing and just letting it go right to the pocket.
