We have a Wedensday Nite cash game.handicap is 90% of 200.We do not allow post bowling at all.We do however allow pre bowling. The question is :Should we pay out to the guys that pre bowl?We will let their scores count towards their total pinfall, but alot of us feel that by pre bowling under not only different lane conditions, but also without the stress of having to bowl without all the other guys there gives them an unfair advantage. The top two tonite were pre bowlers.I happened to be there practicing after having both of my balls worked on.They bowled for over an hour, then decided to pre bowl.My 230's and 240's the other day turned into 190's and 200's tonite on the different oil pattern. So,should we pay out the pre bowlers or not?

I do not have a rule book, however, I believe that whether pre or post bowling is allowed is up to the league to vote on. If prior to the league starting a majority vote for no pre or post bowling that would be the rule for the league.
I think once the league starts it would be unfair to change a rule. The people who are doing the pre-bowling probably have to miss some time from the league and would not have agreed to be in the league if they could not pre-bowl. I think to change the rule you would probably need 100% of the team captains to vote to change it.
One thing they should do is make sure the lanes are conditioned prior to the pre-bowling to simulate the conditions that the league will face.

DW-My bad,it's a singles league. And due to the "budget" of the house, they only oil the lanes right before the league starts. We had what they call "The Sport Shot" tonite.Heavy oil from the ditch to 12 boards in.Since we use 8 lanes for the league, there were kids on the other 4 lanes. One lane separation from them to us.Sound system jacked waaaay up with that rap crap. The DAY(not night) that these guys prebowled,no music,NO KIDS and about 8 other guys either working on something or guys like me who had work done on their balls and were way down from these guys.Funny thing, they were using the SAME pair of lanes that they had bowled on the NIGHT before!Nothing had been done to the lanes so we all know that they had the shot down cold. Now should they deserve to cash?

Rowdy, can you take the bold letters off, make this really hard to read. And I have good vision.
Guess it goes, by league rules. Do you all pay out weekly?

I see what you mean. I think the answer is still the same. Whatever the rules of the league are controls. I thouroughly agree that pre and post bowling is lame, should be avoided whenever possible, should be extremely limited, and the conditions should be duplicated to every extent possible.

X2... Missed the first night of my summer league, got talked into bowling that at on the starting night, thus we post bowled. Went to tourney, bowled the following week after leagues where done, much better conditions, since we had oil.

That better?Yes,we pay cash every Wed nite.First 3 places. The finals will pay all the way down to 8th place. The prevailing thinking is that we want to see the winners pick up the cash, right then and there. Why applaud a guy who is 500 miles away and can't hear it?

Very much... the spacing of the text you use is far to close for bold. Thanks.
I like that concept, bowl now, paid now. Do you all have aend of the year prize fund?

Is there anything to keep people coming back week after week. You could bowl a few weeks here and there and probably clean up nicely. Sounds like a fun concept, weekly tournament/league.

You gotta bowl every week to keep that season long pinfall up.Think of it like Nascar points.Only the top 8 are gonna see the big money at the end of the season.

Most league's can change rules at any time with a unanamous vote anytime, but i think only a majority vote at the meeting before the league begins. YMMV

Raven- That's the plan next Wed.Show of hands before we bowl.Majority wins.
