I've been looking at purchasing "The Deal" for some time for synthetic, heavily oiled lanes. I checked today to find the price drastically reduced. What's up? Something wrong with the ball or just the release of "The Real Deal"? I currently throw a Vicious Particle (black&gold).

I am getting about 5-7 boards more hook from my Real Deal vs my Deal, Drilled the same way. I would recommend the Real Deal vs the Deal for heavy oil.

If you look at the numbers the RG is about the same for all of the balls but the Real Deal has more Hook potential than the deal.

I agree with pba 6285, My Real Deal is close to 7-10 boards stronger. It's alot stronger in the front and mid parts of the lane. If you're looking for a ball for heavy oil, I suggest the Real Deal. The Deal is a good compliment for medium oil volume conditions.

I was talking to a local pro shop owner, and i asked him if he was going to be carrying the real deal or the saw blade. He said that he probably wouldnt carry the real deal simply because 1. the deal is not a hot seller and 2. the deal doesnt do what hammer said it did. He said that it was supposed to be a big skid/flip, skid/snap ball and he said all 5 deals he drilled were a skid/arc movement. He said he drilled them all differently but the same basic movement. That was one of my top chocies for my new ball but now its between saw blade and big block maybe might look into the real deal...

If your pro shop guy would of read the characteristics carefully he would of notieced that the Deal was designed for medium oil volume conditions.
I can say for sure that the Real Deal is the REAL thing. My Real Deal is at least 7 boards stronger than my Deal. Try the Real Deal for heavy volume conditions. Your pro shop will be sorry

Yeah He didnt really get into specifics on how he drilled them or what lane conditions they were rolled on... I am looking into the real deal because i do need a ball that is made and will break in heavy oil. The sling blade just doesnt cut it when i go on the juniors bowlers tour and i find these heavily oiled lanes. Well i wasnt bashing the real deal just stating what a pro shop guy said about the deal.

That's funny you say that. I spoke to a pro shop guy on saturday and he told me the same thing about the Deal. I asked him because he had it on sale real cheap and I asked him why. He said he tried one out at a demo day and it went straight. He said he spoke to a rep about it and the rep told him it pretty much goes straight. He was trying to unload whatever he had in stock. I know nothing about the ball but I know he didn't like it. I have noticed a fire sale going on for these balls online.

I wonder if it's the same pro shop guy?
are you from NY?

I have both the deal and real deal. I love them both. I have two deals, one it pin above the bridge of my fingers with the cg right below, this ball is great on medium to dry lanes. It carries great and won't overhook if I hit the dry a bit early. The other has the pin at 1:30 in relation to the cg above the fingers, this is great when the lanes get dry and I want to play inside. The ball is not a flop, it is very predictable and carries very well.

The Real Deal is the best ball I have thrown, it really hooks in oil and has a lot of the same characteristics of the Deal. It won't overhook in the dry and will roll up in the oil. My Real Deal is about 5-7 boards more, but hits even harder.

I would reccomend anyone either ball. If you have a lot of rev's both will be great and not overreact.
