Yes definetly. The only thing that is different is that the driller has more options with a pin-out ball

Do you have an expectation for the type of reaction that you're looking for?

I know that I wanted it to go long with a strong backend. Is this posable?

That i'm not sure of because i've never had a pin-in ball. Actually, i've only had one brand new ball.

Talk to your ball guy, but here's some guidelines from my experience (I used to run a shop about 5 yrs ago):
For a go long layout, you want the core to be more upright (4" PAP). Depending on how much top-weight the ball has and what your PAP measures, you probably want the pin a little to the right of your grip (assuming RH) and as close to your ring finger as you can get it within the rules. You could probably drill a side-hole to take out some of the side weight, but generally that makes the ball roll earlier, especially if it is off of your PAP.

I have one. Place the pin in the palm with the cg lateral and kicked out. Depending on how far the cg is kicked out, an X-hole will be needed with a size to be determined by your ball driller/ proshop. I know Pain has heard of this drilling, it's called the Rico drilling and it is getting more and more popular. Very clean through the heads and a consistant move through the break point. Now, understand that the layout won't have as great of an impact on the reaction of the ball than the coverstock prep. Shiny/polished will give it more length and dull/sanded will make it roll earlier and more evenly through the lane. This is all based off of the hope that you are a high rev/speed player like myself.

Ok thank you. Do you have pictures of this layout or of your ball? They would help out alot. And yes I am a high rev player.

I'm not familar with that ball but generally particle balls are early rolling smooth arc balls. That motion works well on heavy oil for which particle balls are designed for.

Well if you look it up, Columbia calls it the U-Trun particle pearl. It also says that it is supossed to have the distance of a pearl and the backend of a particle. How true this is I dont know. Im going to try and get it drilled today. But I dont know since a just had surgery and still feeling a little bad. I will keep you all posted. Thanks for the posts everyone.
i found it, let us know how it rolls for you.
