I try to stay a little more on top of my release which gets the ball into the lane sooner and working sooner. That way it has pleanty of time to build friction.

I usually use a ball that it drilled to roll earlier .

i got 2 hawgs 2 no mercys and 3 big bang
Hawg
-Drilled for long with a sharp backend
-drilled for and early hook
No Mercy
-#1 drill
-drilled for long with a huge backend also is sanded
Big Bang
-drilled to hug the gutter and snap back
-early hook
-drilled long with sharp backend
so i just pull out my 2nd hawg or 3rd big bang and see what they do cuz my 2nd no mercy hooks more that the other 2
I've been trying to figure this out for the past 2 weeks. The shark has been kicking my butt so take my words with a grain of salt. ;)
Conventional thinking is to use a heavy load particle with early rolling layout on longer patterns. Your Big Bang(s) are that type of ball. Also some of the stronger reactives are made for these conditons. You should be able to use your No Mercy as well.
I would choose the 4 or 5 (plus a spare to make 6) that you think will give you the best look with and go from there. I'm playing the shark in two houses and what's working in one isn't moving at the other. You won't know for sure until you bowl.

Don't give away the pocket. No matter where you throw, don't give it away. Longer patterns let us see our ball skid and skid and skid. So you are going to need something to pick up into a nice roll at about 30 feet. Higher rev players like myself can play across the middle but not too far outside of 13 or 14. I bowled on the Shark in the beginning of my PBA summer league and that was the best that I have bowled on any of them.

Used my No Mercy drilled layout #1. The surface was 4000 Abralon. The surface was had 3 games before I started bowling on the Shark.
Guess it will depend on the condition, bowler and equipment.

tough luck on this one. i played both TOC and shark and my sanded NM just went straight and hardly hook at all.
i have to play it from the outside like from the 5board and roll it straight to the pocket.
if you prefer to swing your ball, you need to reduce the speed to let the ball read and grip the lane to have more hook.

I'll pull out the hawgzilla 2000 sanded (or lower). Play a tighter line maybe the 10 board. After two games the line should be groomed and I an play my diesel on the same line or keep the hawg and start opening it up a bit. Depending on the oil you may have to slow the ball speed slightly as well.
