Hey welcome to the boards!

Now for a question...

What is your opinion on the new balls in comparison to their counterparts from last season? I assume you got the equipment before the public release so you probably have a few more games with them than the rest of us.

Hammerman:

Welcome aboard. I feel that this forum is an important place for Hammerheads of all differerent levels to meet. It is great when the staffers drop in to join in this really unique place.

Here are a couple of ideas I have discussed in the past. I thought I would recycle them now:

1) I hope that Hammer sponsors more local events like demo days. If there is anything like that I have never been made aware of it. Perhaps, if Hammer had a way for us to register here so we could get a newsletter with various events that would be appreciated.

2) I would also like to see the Hammer Pros and Staff put on clinics every now and then.

3) We would probably also like to hear "journal entries" from Hammer Pros and Staff as they are on the road playing in various tournaments. Now that many of us are playing in PBA Experience leagues, it would be really interesting what the more talented among us do when facing these tough conditions.

First of all Hammerman 74 can you tell us about your background in bowling. Any particular areas where you would like to help us?
Second I am new to hammer and fairly new to bowling, 2years bowling 65 years old and a 160+ avg. so I am wondering why the No Mercy seems to be less popular than the Black Widow. I did get the NM and am happy with it so far.

I have not thrown any of the new balls yet. I just recieved them on Friday. I will get back to you all on Tuesday I will be throwing them on Monday night. As for my background I manage a very high profile pro shop in the Tampa Bay area. I have been a PBA member for the last 7 years. I have had 18 300's and 6 800's, with high series being an 859 which I started out with the first 30 strikes with a Pearl Particle Diesel. So, I would be able to help out in a bunch of areas but mostly with layouts and surface changes. Please do not hesitate to ask. Thanks again and look forward to helping the best I can.

Hey Hammerman74,welcome to the wide world of Hammer! As Tink said,we're getting a tourney together for early next year.Hope to see you there! As for the spare ball question, all we need is something that'll go srtaight and could come in a variety of colors and some with the Hammer logo really big on them.Like the Motel 6 and Baby Rith balls they use on Tour.We are all getting sick and tired of walking into a house looking all Hammered up,pulling out one or two really nice Hammer strike balls.....and then having to pull out a Viz-a-ball or worse,a white dot!Talk about embarrassing!Any help on a spare ball would be soooooo welcome!Good Luck with the new position and welcome!

Rowdy, I think a White Dot is better than a Vis-A-Ball. Atleast the White Dot is owned by the same company as our Hammers. Where as the Vis-A-Ball is Brunswick and not made in the USA. If you care about that.

By the way Hammerman74, welcome! What balls did you receive?

Hi everyone
As far as I know I have not heard anything on a spare ball coming out. Thats not saying they will not bring one out soon just I personally have not heard anything. If I hear anything on the subject I will be more than happy to let you know. As for the Rico layout I have not tried it myself but a fellow PBA member has and it looked like he had a real nice even roll on it. The No Mercy Beatin should be out in late July suppose to have more length and stronger backend reaction. Shoud be a very nice compliment to the original No Mercy. Thanks again and remember " Beat'em with a hammer ".

well that sucks...no mentions of a spare ball...and if they do...tell them to come up with a better logo next time...the tuff logo was horrid

Yep Yep, gotta go with the desire for a new spare ball. I think we all are more than pleased with the strike ball releases that Hammer has put out for the last few years.

And aside from the logo, there was nothing wrong with the Tuff. Colors were great, but good lord was that logo craptastic.

I will remake my statement from a few months ago. The "Spare No Mercy" ;) or of course the Everclear rerelease.

Rowdy, I think a White Dot is better than a Vis-A-Ball.Agreed, however a Blue Dot is better than a White Dot (imho of course).

By the way Hammerman74, welcome!
Seconded (or is that Thirded or Fourthed by now!)

Gosh Josh, was that a gutterball or your sense of humor that just went in the channel?Lighten up,it was a joke.I would never expect Hammer to do that.My next Black Widow would have to cost around $750 to pay for all those shirts.

It was humor... wonderful humor that, very often, gets read with improper inflection over the intarwebz...
