Need as much hook as possible

I want to get a ball that can eek out the most hook possible. I'm not very good at balls. Any suggestions?

I have low-ish speed, I get some good revs on it for my speed, but right now, I'm using Toxic that is drilled for medium lanes. Sometimes, I get stuck throwing straight and I don't get the best ball reaction.

If you are not getting enough hook, you can try dulling the ball down a bit and see what it does. Go into proshop and have them take the ball down to 800-1000 abralon. Dulling the cover should get ball to read the lanes earlier and not go so straight. You might ask if they can add hole (perhaps outside of or over your PAP?) for increased hook too.

On really long oil patterns I have had most success with HAWG at 800 and Hawgzilla at 500. I have seen people take their balls down to lower than 360.

Other option is to polish ball so it makes it through oil before using energy. That is something I am just starting to play around with using the Black Widow Pearl in its polished 4000 OOB condition. On long oil patterns, I think I will have to wait until late in Second game or after to be able to use BWP that shiny. But, on shorter patterns, the polished ball will conserve energy until it finds the dry.

you throw a toxic pretty slow and it goes straight...my suggestion is dont buy a ball..and use the money on a coach.

or you can buy a visionary amb particle.... that eats oil for breakky, lunch, dinner and a midnight snack...

but i say get a coach first...

It also depends on whether you are looking for a ball that has a more dramatic move at the break point or something that will roll heavy and cover more boards throughout the entire lane.

Gotta go with the guys on this one.Get the pro shop to dull it a little,maybe a 4th hole for some more hook.But I THINK you might be fighting a release prob.A couple or three sessions with a coach would probably do wonders for your game.And this is the best time of year to do it.After the sessions,you'll have the rest of the summer to fine tune everything and be ready to shred some racks come winter leagues!:D

Although I've never used it, but the brunswick fury is suppose to have a really big hook to it, and some have claimed it's bigger than most balls on the market, I don't know if that's true or not.

For a Hammer ball, I'd say the black widow or no mercy would be among the top choices.

Third that! You could easily be using too strong of a ball. This would look like it is not hooking because it is burning up all of it's energy too soon and dying before the pins.
