Practicing yesterday.Guy gets on the lane next to me and pulls a Black Widow out of the bag.Cool, thinks I,another Hammerhead. Then this guy does THE stangest thing I've seen in 40 years.Holds the ball up in front of him with both hands,(okay so far),THEN he drops his left ARM completly down by his side so he's holding the ball one handed.Takes a 5 step approach,WITH NO SLIDE!Doesn't bend over,at all!Straight up.Tosses the ball about 10 to 12 FEET out onto the lane. This poor ball takes about a 4 FOOT bounce, and misses the pocket by a mile. After awile we get to talking and he looks at my Pearl.Says he can't understand all the hype about Hammer's,they don't do much for his game!Anybody EVER see anyone bowl like this?

I'd like to punch him in the head.

Sorry for the poor quality it was from a crappy cell phone.

Yep... Last Saturday at my kids Shrek club/league. He was bowling with his daughter. Put a massive spin on it and it hit about 3 feet past the center arrow. He bowled about 150 something on both games. Even on spare shots.

OFFER HIM SAME ADVICE AND TELL HIM WHY HE MIGHT NOT BE GETTING BEST OUT OF BALL DUE TO LOFTING IT DOWN LANE,OR DID YOU JUST SHOW EM HOW ITS DONE:eek:  ?

I was putting up okay numbers with the Pearl.Really wasn't trying to score, was more interested in what I could and couldn't make the ball do.But after he slammed the brand I just started striking and putting up 220 to 240 just to shut him up.Struck out the 10th of the last game and told him it didn't look like there was anything wrong with a Hammer to me!

I don't do the unsolicited advice thing at the lanes. If you had seen my first 3 games you would have come down to tell me to move something and then got egg on your face when I told you the ball was going where I wanted it to.If someone ASK'S me to watch them,I'll stop what I'm doing and try to help out.Don't mind it at all.But to just walk up and TELL someone to do something is a GREAT way to wind up with both of your feet in your mouth!:D

hahah...my friend's dad is a nightmare to bowl with.

He stands normal, looks like he's gonna do fine, being that he throws a Backyard Bully(you'd expect alot you know?) then he starts his back swing...below shoulder level (no problem yet) he gets too low, then bends his elbow at a 90 degree angle, and SLAMS the ball onto the ground.

I thought the accident was going to be that the ball would hit roof in the backswing, but that is hilarious, and the way he casually walked back.

Have a girl on my team that has that "I don't care attitude" and blames any ball that she uses claiming it affects her swing or aim, and doesn't matter which brand it is. She throws it 1/2 way down the lane before it lands with a loud thud and she hardly ever hits the head pin. She typically averages 2-4 pins on her first throw, then forget even picking up a spare from her.

Here's her stat line from one game during league:

6/0 7/2 0/0 7/0 1/0 0/3 4/1 7/0 5/0 1/0 = total of 44

Not someone who bowls in a way that causes distraction, but I've seen someone put a "skip" in their step on their approach. Like a 4 step approach that goes Left, Right*skip*Right, Left.

SO he's a full Roller i take it. I know of a insanely good kid that takes 3 steps then lofts it. He has a reason though, he has cerebal paulsy so one of his legs are longer than the other. He has 5 sanctioned 300's and an 800
