I ordered the Hammer No Mercy Beat'N last week. Suppose to be shipped around July 23. I am always excited when receiving a new ball. Does anyone have any info on this new Hammer other than what the Hammer web site has on the ball?

There is not gonna be much information about this ball until after July 23rd... Ebonite really pulled in the reigns on distributors release stuff early.

If we hear anything it will be from Staff Members.

I know a staff member and I watched him throw 2 different beat'ns and I have also seen his original NM's. His comments are the beat'n is more pridictable than the original. It picks up its roll a bit later making it cleaner through the heads. Backend reaction in his opinion is very close to the original. maybe a hair more backend but not much. It also responded to changes in the cover just as well as the first one.

How it will work on a heavy oil shot is questionable for me. If Im bowling on a heavy or long pattern, I dont want something that rolls later.

Same with me. I was wondering how length could work on a longer pattern.

I'm thinking that with only a really long skid/flip layout will that work. Hitting the dry backends just as it starts its flip. But there is quite a bit of surface on the Beat'n. I saw the ball, and it looks like a beast!:D

I deffinetly dont use a skid/flip layout for a long/heavy pattern.

That's the thing, a long layout won't work on heavy oil. You are going to need something to roll earlier, and possibly heavier when you have a heavy pattern.

That's what I was getting at. The whole long skid/flip comment was sarcasm :p Doesn't show too well over the immernet :p :D

The Beat'n is going to have a factory finish of 4000 Abralon, so there will be pently of room to play with it... adding more surface.

Personally I think this will be fine on Heavy Oil.

I agree. I didnt state that when I was watching my buddy throw he had 2 layouts that were both long layouts. I wouldnt have used his layouts on that ball.

Funny how there is not as much hype for this ball as there was for the BWP. the assistant at TLP(the local proshop) has had his for 2 weeks now but I have yet to see him use it due to conflicting schedules.

My guess everyone is waiting for a pearl NM.

Hit the nail right on the head with this one. Leaving the cover at 4000 from the factory is pretty smart. Not so dull that you can't make it start earlier, but not polished either. There's room either way. Can't wait.

On a side note, a NM Pearl would be exciting wouldn't it? There was an overseas pearl. Can't remember what it was called, there's a pic on the internet floating around somewhere.

Plan on owning every ball in the No Mercy line. They will always own the Black Widow line.... :p IMHO

Nice challenge. Perhaps we can have a BW vs. NM throw down some time. My BW with new thumb pitch is threatening to unleash some scary numbers.

Not me I'd rather have a NMParticle I want splinters in the ball.

Hopefully Hammer will come back to particle technology some time soon. If a NM or RAW Hammer particle is released I would be waiting outside for the pro shop to open on release day! :D
