Hello everyone,

Just curious. Is there anyone on this site bowling after a complete knee replacement. I had been bowling for over 35 years and my knees were shot. I started 05-06 league season but it only lasted two weeks before I had to quit. I had my left knee completely replaced. I came back last season 7 months after the knee replacement. (maybe a tad bit early) I had carried between 202-205 for the last 20 years. Last year bowling in 2 leagues I averaged right at 197. I was sorta disappointed but concidering the surgery I guess I was happy.

Hope to get my average back to normal this season. Then in December 07, I am having my right knee completely replaced. I sure love the game. Hope to bowl another 8-10 years after that. I am new to throwing Hammers. My arsenal includes Hammer Hawg Wild, Hammer No Mery Beat"N, Columbia White Dot, and many of the contempory Columbia balls.

Is there anyone else with artificial knees still bowling?

A buddy of mine that bowls with me on Wednesdays has had a complete knee replacment. Its on his slide knee too. It took him about 2 months to get back to feeling normal. 4 game sets are no problem.

My Dad had his knee replaced in January. He's back to full mobility now and loves his new knee. He's a police officer and he jokes that now he can finally chase the bad guys on foot again instead of running up on them and bumping them with the car.:D Good luck man, hope you have just as much improvement as he has.

A friend and fellow senior bowler had his knees replaced awhile back. Recovery all depends on the person as we all know. It took him about 1 1/2 years to get back to where he was bowling full time. But like I said it depends all on the person. Heis a fews years older than I am and this might have contributed to his full recovery.

Speaking of age, my Dad is 57, if that helps.
