I RECENTLY PLAYED IN A TRAVELLING LEAGUE AT A CENTRE IN SHREWSBURY, NICE CLEAN BOWL FRIENDLY STAFF THAT COULDN'T DO ENOUGH TO HELP.
WE STARTED BOWLING AND TO MY DISMAY THEY HAD PUT REVERSE BLOCK DOWN AS A CONDITION, I KNOW YOU SHOULD BE ABLE TO BOWL ON ANY CONDITION BUT IF YOU PLAY A BIG SHOT IT'S UNPLAYABLE. WHO EVER INVENTED THIS CONDITION NEEDS SHOOTING OR EXPLAINING WHY CENTRES USE THIS CONDITION.
EVERY DIVISION THAT PLAYS THERE STRUGGLE TO MAINTAIN THEIR AVERAGES SO WHY IS IT USED, I KNOW THE LEAGUE GET REDUCED RATES AT THESES CENTRES BUT I'D RATHER PAY THE EXTRA MONEY AND PLAY ON A QUALITY CONDITION,JUST HOPE THE NEXT ROUND IS BETTER LOL

And the best way to play the condition is inside. But u say ur average drops, y is this. Its because u cant play it. That means that u need to adjust. Its to make u a better bowler.

I have had luck playing it straight from the outside. It gives me room to miss right but not left.

The reverse block is normally done on purpose and is very hard to play. If you play too far outside the ball will just keep going straight and not make it bak to the pocket, The best way to play this condition is inside because of having less oil in the middle part of the lane.

I went to try that on thursday, my league. I swear to god they oiled from 10 foot to the pins. The ball would hook when it landed, then just lay right into the pocket if u got it right. U had no room for error. I'm gonna try and play in with my passion at 1000 or outside with my inferno at 320. Depends on if they oil good.

How deep were you playing? To play deep on a reverse block means DEEP, in the oil on the left side of the lane.

The Condition That Was Put Down Was Unplayable For Me And Other Bowlers, I Ended Up Playing My Blue Dot Which Was Any Where In Side 2nd Arrow Screamed Into The Brooklyn Or On The Nose If Out Side Forget It , Wash Out Or In The Channel.
To Play A Tight Line Bores The Pants Off Me But Can Appreciate Your Comments About Making You A Better Player But Reverse Block Sucks No Brainer Condition, I'd Rather Play 4o Foot Of Oil And A Sharked Back End. Oh It's Not Soar Grapes Either Only Two Players Out Of The 8 5 Man Teams Plus Reserves Bowled Over There Average. Thanks For Listening Had To Get That Off My Chest Lol:) :)

I have a low rev-rate so that helps me.

When I have played on it, the house likes to call it an inverted crown. 40’ very light oil from 15 to 25 with OOB from 7 to the gutter. This will force right handers to play inside to somewhere around the 6th arrow. Trying to play straight down the right side will result in balls going downhill into the ditch.
Like Pain and Bubba said. This shot is very difficult, and if you cant adapt to it or move far enough inside your finished.

Theres a house near here that lays the reverse block. Have had good results starting on 10 throwing to 5 and controlling the speed. The widows LOVE this stuff. When the BWS starts to hook too soon, change to the BWP. When that starts the same thing, start moving 2 boards at a time to the left untill you're happy. Hope some of that helps.

i have bowled on a number of reverse blocks, shot my 298 on a reverse block... and i still hate them...
couple at my home centre when they were playing around with the oil machine... couple of tournaments.... and rockys home centre... where i shot my 298.... shot anything out to 5 and u r lucky to hit the tenpin even...
i have found only 2 ways to play them
bowl deep inside, depending how much oil is on the inside is depending what ball type, but normally its a weak pearl.... shot my 298 doing that...
or you can play in the oil on the outside, straight down the boards.... i have actually this once in a practise game.... need to be dead on with your targeting... i'm not going to tell you my scores....

Hey street, i've shot my high game on a reverse block too. It was after the first game and a little open play. I created some area to miss right so i was fine. I strung 7 together all perfect flush except for one mixer.
