Does anyone know the difference (in reaction) between the Pearl & Doom?
Aren't they basically for the same lane conditions? I heard that the Pearl hits harder on the backend, but I wanted to hear from those that have actually tried both.

Seen a few DOOM's, rolled a couple (that did not fit the best.) It has a nice backend move, very sensitive off the Dry. Seems to be condition specific. Everybody I know used there at the factory finish, adding some surface to this ball might make it roll more predictable.
The BWP seems to be smoother off the Dry, more controlled and predictable. The back is very strong, if not stronger. This ball has been bill as being condition specific, by most here on the forums. But I found this ball is pretty versitle. It really take coverstock changes well.
I've had mine at the Factory 4000P, 4000, 1000, 1000P... probably going to 2000 next.
Hope this helps.

They might be for similar lane conditions but are completly different animals. BWP is a high mass bias asymetric ball. Doom is a symetric ball with no additional flip or weight block. They both have a Pearl additive and both hit very well. The Doom will skid more than the BWP and has a higher RG. The BWP will make a harder move in the back and rev up a bit more.

Haha... good comparison, bluerrpilot.
Anyways, I throw both the Doom and the BWP in leagues, and I have to say that I like the length of the Doom better. It gets down the lane further than the BWP (which seems to like to start hooking early as opposed to the Doom), but both hit hard. BWP does in fact rev harder and charges the pocket a little more definitively, but if the heads dry out, you really have to either push the BWP through them or loft the ball to get it to reach your breakpoint without hooking sooner. I like to throw the BWP, and follow up with the Doom when the heads dry up.
I tried adding some Extender polish to the BWP, and it saves a lot more energy for the backend, but that really starts to get touchy if you have patches of oil or carrydown down-lane. The BWP has never lasted really more than one game for me, so I usually take it just for that second shot, and follow it up with the Doom.
Just my two cents on the matter... you can keep the change.
