Not too bad neo, except for whoever was holding the camera had a shaky hand, but otherwise nice strike count.

Good shoot'n.
If I can make an observation. I would say to try and get your point of contact with lane a little sooner, not so much loft. You will get the ball working sooner and see better response in the back.
Thats assuming you were not just compensating for burnt heads.

Yeah I have to loft it to add revs on dry lanes.

Lofting the ball actually decreases leverage and revs. Why do you want to add revs when its dry? Would'nt you rather have less?

That struck me funny, too, but I wasn't going to say anything.

Really? My coach said that it was the other way around. And as for chunking it down the lane, its just the camra angle. I dont loft it that much.
Im really starting to regret making this video and posting it.
Any way. :o

Don’t regret, we are just offering up some friendly words of wisdom. We wont be offended if you tell us to piss off. Well...some might :D
I’m not going to say your coach is wrong, but I’m going to strongly disagree with him. All of your leverage comes at the bottom of the swing. In order for you to loft the ball that far out, it needs to be released past that bottom portion of the swing. That will rob you of power. Also, reving the ball up more will create more friction, creating more friction on dry lanes will make it hook more.

Don't be that way. You asked for criticism... didn't you? We're just trying to help you be better... that's all... and asking for clarification where we've heard different. You're not doing anything WRONG, per se, just that you could be doing things BETTER. But that all depends if you want to or not. It's all relative man. Don't come in here and get hard feelings. We're all friends... except one of us... but we just ignore him.

I'm glad to see another Hammer/Blue Dot man. Don't regret posting the video, we're all here to help each others game where we can. If my coach ever burns my video lesson FROM MAY, I'll post it and feed myself to the sharks....
I'm an "ex lofter" so I've been working hard to lay the ball at the foul line so it reads the whole lane. However I understand loft is apart of many bowlers games, particularly if they're not flexible enough to get a deep knee bend at the line.
My one comment about your video is the "direction" of your loft. As the ball leaves your hand it appears that it goes up, and then out onto the lane. Ideally, even when lofting, you want to release the ball close the surface of the lane. Audibly, you want to hear a smooth landing vs a loud thud.
Check out some video of Mika Koivuniemi on you tube. He's the loft master on the pba tour. Even though he's throwing the ball out there take notice of how he does it.
Post back with any questions you may have...

ALSO OTHER GOOD TIPS HERE, http://www.bowl4fun.com/ron/tip39.htm,nice and good shooting. all of this may not pertain to you,but it talks about revs being robbed, also tips called smooth land(2 parts).,http://www.bowl4fun.com/ron/tip28.htm, http://www.bowl4fun.com/ron/tip29.htm these might confirm what slap said

In the days of my youth, I was told what it means to be a man...SORRY, had a Zeppelin flashback there! What I meant to say is, I was also told to loft the ball when dry, in order to get it further down the lane before it grabbed hold. Now days, I get more revs on the ball than back then, so I see your point about lofting for revs...I get tons now...so the old ways don't work anymore. Also, balls have come a long way. Now, I get a certain ball for certain lane conditions. Anyway, I'm working hard on an earlier release, but boy does it feel weird. I have really bad knees too, so I'm looking for that happy medium between loft and laying it softly on the lane. Started wearing a knee brace, which helps. What I'm getting at is I find this a good thread for me...sorry for rambling.
Neo...don't feel bad about posting the vid. With the advice our fellow Hammerheads can give, it was a great move. That said, I enjoyed watching you hammer those pins! :D

Hey Neo, thanks for sharing...
Was that you bowling at your best? (Don't have to answer me or us...) Alot of my videos are done because I'm look for something. Not because I'm bowling well and want to see that.
Since you where getting some feedback, I kinda left it alone... but here is the Q&A, I have with the Jr Bowlers (Do youth coaching on youth league)... also some adults too.
How old are you? ___ (they respond... between about 7 and up...)
Let know I'm 30 and I have a deep knee bend. (I know it not that old, but its older than them.)
Do you have knee pain or is your knee bad? (usually no)
Sometimes I don't get to this information... because they answered "yes".
Then I discuss how a knee bend or deep knee bend helps you game.
1. Leverage
2. Accuracy at arrow can improve for some bowlers
3. If you keep you knee bent through out your follow through... or even until the ball hits the pin... the old hold that pose. You will generally not pull the ball to the left of your target, for right handers. (Got to have a free swing.)
4. One of the good things about a deep knee bend is it can help you get the ball down the lane on drier shot.
*** But a nice loft will work well too.***
This information was not provided in my USBC Level 1 Coaching Class. (It's a good class.) Side note would like to get my Bronze Certificate this year. Been coaching, helping and sharing whatever information I know with other bowlers...
*** Disclaimer, this may not work for everyone. Nor, do I know everything... these are just things I have learned, worked for me or someone else.***

Thanks guys. Yeah that was my highest set Ive bowled. I bowled 9 games. And Just happend to get this in the last set. I wanted to see how my ball speed was working out. Ive slowed down a bit with my feet. And also I wanted to see the ball movement. Thats why I was videoing. That and Im going to submit it on the hammer site for that video thing. Thanks agian guys. :)

Lot's 'o' loft there neo. You look like you had a good line and some good pin action going.
As for the quality of the video, your camera's resolution could be a lot better. Kind of grainy and you could try using a tripod or setting your camera on something stationary.

I've been contemplating getting a decent camera for a while now.
BTW, I've been known to chuck my ball down the lanes when they get dry like you do in your video. That's my defense when the lanes are torched in addition to dropping down to less-aggressive balls.
