I have just finished my first league and did okay on a THS, finishing with a 165 ave, but the last 4 weeks of the summer I averaged 202 thanks to an awesome coach and lots of practice. I am going to continue in the same league for the fall, but want to add a 2nd league in another house. So I have been thinking about trying a sport or PBA Exp. league. I do realize that I will get killed for awhile since I have not been bowling long, (4 months) but I guess I *want* the challenge. I find all the talk from everyone about having to make adjustments, figuring out the patterns, and determining the right equipment interesting and kinda what I want in a challenge. In this league, I can basically throw my Pain on the same line for 2 games and when switch to the BWP using the same line for the 3rd. Don't get me wrong, I have a great time, and the league is a blast, I just want to add more challenge to my bowling. I know that I still have tons to learn, and need to get my mechanics even better. Am I nuts? Bad idea? Any suggestions/opinions appreciated.

Shooting on pba patterns exposes weaknesses in your game. I am not sure that it actually improves your game.
I would join another league and practice on pba patterns when the are laid out for practice. Learn to shoot spares with spare ball.
Once your game is stronger try a pba experience league. Unless you are a really strong bowler the pba patterns will just be really frustrating. [By frustrating I mean struggling to shoot a 500 series; doing worse the second time you face a pattern, and even worse the 3rd time you face it; having more 150 and below scores than 180 and above scores].
Good luck with whatever you choose. If you handle frustration really well then consider pba experience now!

YOu negver learn how to bowl from bowling good... I averaged 180 at the beginning of the summer(house shot), I joined the PBa league and with that it taught me to be a lot more accurate and just an overall better bowler, although my average in PBA finished last night @ 140, my house shot it at 215 now
And yes I do struggle shooting a 5 on PBA, but I have shot a lot of 7's and 675+ this summer
NOw to the point of the thread
trans, I would recommend the PBA, its good experience and it has taught me a lot... But I have been bowling a lot longer than you
