I would go with a vibe. Either Cherry or Blue, doesn't really matter. Playing an outside line needs length. The Cherry vibe is something a step up from the Tropical Storm bowling balls.

Wow. 19 mph? That's harder than most men.

I was about to say that too...19mph is super fast throwing for a female..we had one in our summer league..but she was 6 feet tall and weighed 350lbs....so she has enough....push....to throw that fast lol

Would this be for one ball only, or for 2-3 to handle different conditons?

For one ball only, I'd go with the Black Widow Pearl hands down.

For 2 balls, can't go wrong with Black Widow & Black Widow Pearl.

For 3 balls, Beat'n/Black Widow and Black Widow Pearl, if you have dry lanes during your league then replace the Beat'n with a Vibe.

Because the lanes where I bowl never get to be bone dry, I went with the Beat'n and have been happy with the results it's given.

Well the way I look at it is why do you want her to be a hammerhead? I mean some hammer balls are good but that doesn't mean she needs all of her balls to be hammer because you think hammer is a cool name or something. Just get her any kind of bowling ball (or balls) that suits her style. It doesn't matter what brand the ball is, as long as it fits her bowling style really. I mean hammer has made many good bowling balls, but that doesn't really mean you gotta buy all hammer balls only and walk around calling yourself a hammerhead.

The only non-Hammer ball I use is my skull ball for spares, the main balls are all Hammers for me.

What is the reason behind trying to convert her into a HammerHead?

Well I just think it's kinda stupid to stick to one ball brand and not buy anything except a hammer just cus people convince to you that hammer is the best.

Well I just think it's kinda stupid to stick to one ball brand and not buy anything except a hammer just cus people convince to you that hammer is the best.

No one had to convince me to buy Hammer, I choose to do it on my own. I did all the research and asked questions to not only Brian Graham but to columbia300/ebonite/track/storm and brunswich as well. I even went to a few pro shops to get further info and insight on te companies, watched my favorite bowlers on espn and espn classic.

Went to the bowling alleys in the casino's that I plan on bowling at, and asked questions to the people as well, but it really boiled down to a few things for me.

It took me only 3-4 days to get a response from Hammer whenever I had questions to ask, and it took over a month to get a reply from storm and ebonite, while getting no reply at all from track and brunswick.

Another thing was that almost everyone was using or suggesting to me to use storm or the maxim at the bowling alley, and while storm does make a good ball I just didnt want a ball that smell of fruit or mint.

I also wanted to be different from the rest of the people in my league, because no one else throws a Hammer ball, and I'm the first to do so.

But the main thing for me, was I remembered how many years ago before I really got into bowling, watching the pba on espn back when Walter Ray was throwing and winning with Hammer and how everything seemed to be either a hammer or rhino ball.

And I always wanted a Hammer but couldn't afford it back then, so when I got back into bowling once again after my divorce, I went with columbia300 first with the action and action max, and then added the first of my black widows soon afterwards.

It wasn't until I started using my black widow for a bit that I decided to get the black widow pearl as soon as it came out, and had 2 of my friends wanting to get into bowling so I had them using (and later buying) the columbia300 balls.

It was all about performance with me when I decided to stick with Hammer equipment, I had better weeks of practice and in league using them that I was with the action series. I don't regret my decision to do stick with Hammer since I like what I've bought from them already.

I believe in the "if it ain't broke, don't fix it" theory, and I did have my own family try to convince me to get brunswick just because they used to be in muskegon, MI. just a few miles from where they grew up, and some of them worked at.

Well, if you want to throw all one brand , thats cool. One thing I try to pay attention to as well as the ball reaction is cover maintenence. If you dont mind paying a pro shop to rejuv and resurface a ball every 30 games then it really doesnt matter what ball you buy. If however you dont want to pay and do not own the equiptment to do it yourself as I and others do. The thing to do is ask around about coverstock durability. There is nothing worse than having a $240 ball that quits working well after a month of bowling !

Good luck to you in your search and keep bowling

Sorry for not replying sooner...had to send one off to college over the weekend...I used the wrong choice of words (convert) sorry. She has mentioned that she would would like to try a Hammer ball..She doesnt think she can handle either widow though...Lanes do have a tendency to get real dry for the 3rd game .For now it will probably be a one ball deal..

Just get her any ball that suits her bowling style. Don't matter if it's hammer or not.
