I'm going in for a interview for a job at my local bowling alley. I might be a pinchaser. I know it's nothing big or anything, but this is my first job aside from a crappy paper route I had a few years ago. I hope I get it cause I could really use the money with college starting in a couple weeks. I'm also kinda nervous.

Good luck, if you get it be careful.

I got seven stitches each on the index and middle finger of my left hand. A little reminder to watch where you put your hands on a pin setter.

That tournament director thing was just something I used to do for fun on the computer. I'm not so sure about getting this job because of safety issues because I have never done anything like this before and I am afraid that I might injure myself while on the job. I'll just have to go back tomorrow and see what happens. If it's meant to be, I will get the job, if it's not, that just means that there is something better for me down the road.

Some words of advice from a pin-chaser: Watch where you put your limbs. Depending on the machines, it can be really dangerous. I work with Brunswick machines now and they are a breeze. They seem to be set up for the worker in mind. But, with AMF machines, I would be really careful. Get to know the ins and outs of the machines because those, I think, are wayyyyyyy more difficult to work with.

Thanks. I'll keep that in mind incase I do decide to take the job. That is if I am offered the job.

Hope it works out for the best. The job you really need is in a proshop... get that discount on all the new balls and trade coming in...

That is one thing that I definately would like to do. The guy that works at the pro shop that I go to said that I should try coming back sometime around September to come in and see if he has any job openings. So when I get my Sling Blade, I'm gonna take it in there and see if he needs any help around the shop.

Ditto what Tink said. Just be relaxed and be your normal charming self and they'll give you the job. Don't worry about being in the back. Common sense rules back there. Always look at where you are going to put your hands, and never, ever get in a rush to do anything. You'll be fine. I'll give you the same advice my grand dad used to give to me when I thought I couldn't do a job. "Son,somewhere there is a guy who didn't finish high school doing the same job. You're smarter than him, aren't you? Now,go do the job." Danged if it didn't work everytime. Good Luck.

Warning: this is not a personal attack, I would have done this had anyone said what I quoted just for fun. Please do not take it the wrong way.

Not sure what the AMF's are like, but the Brunswick house I worked in , wherever I was around the machine there was a shutoff switch within reach.
