I throw a Savage from Ebonite, and it is fine on dry, and even medium oil. But, I simply cannot make it work in heavy oil. We've just started a school bowling team, and we travel around to compete with other schools. Well, in competition, lanes are freshly oiled, and my Savage doesn't have what it takes. I'm looking at the Blade Series, but not sure which one to buy. I throw medium speed and medium revs. Generally between the 5-10 boards, but I can change that without a problem if need be.

I would recommend the sling blade. Its great versatility its the only ball i have right now and i throw it on all lane conditions. It works great for me i am am about medium speed medium rev bowler too. I am averaging a 204 at the moment in my high school league. Oh didnt see the heavy oil conditions... Uhh i would look into the saw blade or sharp blade both are good balls.

I think that the Blade Reactive is the best ball from Hammer for oil.
I have 5 of these drilled a little diferant but the ball rolls great in
oil and hits hard . The Power Diesel is my next ball its Particle and is good
in oil to but it dn't hook as much as the blade. That is what I can tell you.

I would have to agree with DPeters on this one. The Blade Reactive seems to be the Blade ball that I can throw on most conditions. The Sling Blade, that mred232 recommended, is a low hooking ball and I would not recommend this ball for any condition that you would consider oily.

Hope this helps

The two blade's that I have had the most success with are the Switch Blade and the Saw Blade.

I tend to use the saw blade on first shift lanes and will change to the Switch Blade as the lanes fry or for second shift leagues.

I would have to go with the Blade Reactive as my favorite in the Balde line. Have your guy drill it for med-heavy oil and you should be very pleased. I bowl in a first shift league on fresh oil and I love mine. :D

Is there anybody, who knows the the correct factory finish of the Blade reaktiv?

I´ve polished the ball and play with them since over 1 year, but now I will play with more speed, and for this, I need an more aggressive surface. My first try was with a 500 abralon pad and after that a light polish. But this wasnt the a good choice. Early roll without any backend power.

The Blade Reactive finished with 800 grit.
Saw Blade would be great for heavy oil.

Go with the Saw Balde, it's a very verstile ball and works good in oil. I have this ball and the blade reactive. The reactive used to be my favorite ball until I bought the saw blade. I have been very happy w/the blade line.
