So I have a new BW and BWP on the way, as I said in my last post, but just some more questions haha. I talked to my pro shop guy, and told him that I heard the original Widow isnt the best oil ball and you guys would recommend a Beatn etc. But he said that with my revs it will be fine, and he will drill the BW #3 strong, and the BWP skid/flip and this will give me good feel. I've just noticed that when I drilled my original BWP and Cherry Vibe the same, they almost seemed like the same ball. So I'm hoping the different drillings will be better. But, it just worries me when he says drill it strong, I like how the ball goes long, it seems to be easier to get it where you want. How much different will it act being drilled strong compared to skid/flip, does this sound like a good combo?

Yea it sounds like a good combo to me but im one of those guys that likes to see the ball hook. But if you have a lot of revs and are used to swinging the ball you should be fine. The skid flip BWP will be a nice ball to go to if the strong drilling on the BW is too much for that night. Good luck with them.

Ya thanks, thats what I figured. The only thing that gets me is this will be my 2 ball combo from now on, and I dont want too strong of a setup for those tricky dry lanes, but oh well. I may have to add a third ball though if that Brown Recluse ball comes out, have you guys heard anything more about this???

You will be just fine if you have the revs like idlehour said. I'll tell you something about my BWS and me,,

When I was laying this thing out, we talked about the strong lay out or , now get this, the do not drill layout. Well I went with the do not drill layout.

It's basically the trick layout my NM has. The pin is 4i inches above the ring finger, the CG is to the left outside the gripline and the mass bias is in the third flare of my track. One house I play in has a fair amount of oil in the middle. Idlehourlegend can verify this. With the widow this year I am playing 20 out to 10 and the baqll has no problem comming out of the oil. It's not a skid/flip type break but a nice even arc into the pocket. This layout actually put almost 1 oz of negative side weight in the ball.

So with a strong layout you should have no problem.

Yea the house that he is talking about has a good amount of oil in the middle and his ball has no problem coming back and the ball hits like a truck theres no weak hits. That also might be beacuse he has 3 times more revs than me and im a pretty high rev rate player. But you should have no problem with those balls the Bwp will be a great ball to go to after the lanes dry up or break down.

How about this for fun. What color grips/slug do you guys use in your balls? I was thinkin about a bright yellowish/green slug with clear grips for the pearl, I've seen one like that before and it looked good. But Ill prolly get the yellow grips, they seem to fit better too for some reason. But I was really wondering about the original. I was thinkin red, but I've seen them like that before and the reds are completely different so it looks funny. And I like to see the ball turning down the lane, so I was thinking white grips, with some other color slug like maybe black. Opinions? I know its not a big deal but might as well make them look good haha

I use the grips that come with the 300 game guarantee. no jk i dont use grips at all but the yellowish green would look good on the BWP.

I try to use at least one orange finger grip so I can see how the ball is turning over. It's just a color that I have no problem seeing. Pick whatever color that you can see the best. There's no difference in the performance of the grip because of the color.

Use the ones that are most comfortable to you. Doesn't matter what color they are really. I never used grips but I can tell how much my ball is turning buy the Pin . Or even the pearlized cover. Whatever you choose, have fun and enjoy.

I like the clear grips better. It just feels better than colored ones IMO.

I use clear grips as well. I got a good deal on some last year so I have several bags.

Pain there's no difference between clear and colored inserts. Other than the color, but they're both made the same.

The BW is a really good heavy oil ball, at times because where I bowl lays down really heavy oil about a hour before league starts, In practice I'll throw the Beat'n 2-3 times then throw the BW 2-3 times.

I've noticed how the BW seems to swim when it's used in those conditions before I got the Beat'N, so now what I do is typically use the Beat'N for either the first 1/2 of the first league game or the complete first game depending on if the oil downgrades and how the Beat'N is doing for me and switch to the BW.

As for the grips colors, I use black on the Beat'N,Anger and BW, yellow (for now) on the BWP and clear for my skull ball.
