Had my first good night in a while. Stopped thinking so much, just went up there and put the ball where it had to go. Had 243 the first game with the BWP and had an open in the 10th. Expierienced some carry down switched balls and had 235,220 the next two games. Didnt move my feet all night just switched balls with the carrydown, had a 698 series.

Well had high school practice, bowled lights out. I averaged 220 over 5 games. Had only 1 under 200 game and it was the last one. I had a 222-205-246-257:D -171. 673 the first 3 and 708 for the 2nd-3rd-and 4th games. Then today for my youth league, they didn't oil and it was dry, my equation was hooking early. Threw a 161 for the first game. Beginning of 2nd game decide to get my blue pearl out and shoot 216-219. Kicked out a ton of ten pins and let me get more right. I needed a double in the tenth of the last game to get 600 and struck then left a 4-7. 596. Stopped my 600 streak of since last saturday, i shot 600 sat. mon. tues. and friday.

Son (angermanagement195) put up 153, 194,157 this morning. Some wacky oil pattern that went way wide out to the 5 and long. Took a little speed off the Anger and hit the pocket pretty well. Had a XXX in each of the three games. Missed some pretty easy 1 and 2 pin spares. Missed the singel 9 in the 10th of the second game otherwise he had a 200+. He has a new polyester spare ball that we're just getting used to but he'll be far better off with that in a few years.

first game i started with my vibe but i couldnt find the right side of the pocket to save my life, i think i had 5 strikes, all brooklyn which was hilarious because nobody else could carry anything on these lanes. I guess its true nothing hits like a hammer. . . second game i got what i deserved and couldnt carry anything but still ended up doing ok. third game i switched to my toxic and focused on hitting my mark and did pretty well again. Last weeks 10 pins underaverage only dropped me 3 pins so hopfully after this week being 20 pins over my average i will be back on the right track.

I had a great nite with my Anger. It was fun for me.

Game one shot a 154, two 127, three 111. My avg is 111. My handicap is 87.Last week I had 4th highest Handicap game with a 232. This week I got a 241 in the first game with my handicap. Also last week as team captin we had 3rd highest handicap game. All of this last week with 3 people. Tonite it was just me and Rowdy and we won 3 out of 4. :)

For the drier conditions I would suggest a cherry vibe with a length drilling(one with the pin above your fingers), because for you on that type of condition your going to want something that goes really long before it breaks. Well i decided to switch to an oval grip vs the power lifts that i had. It really gave me a much cleaner release and allowed me to get the ball to carry a bit further. I threw a good series. We even took all 7 points this week. Its nice not being the last place team.

The 2nd and 3rd game I left Splits on the 10 frame. A 7-10 and the Big 4. All in all I was happy with my game. Also took my Black hammer to 4000 grit with a heavy polish and shooting spares with it, better then with my plastic ball.

Even came away with $30 in Brunswick Bucks.

Hope you didn't do what I did last week and gave that person a tour of the toilet. Anyway, being ripped off does suck really really bad and it's effected my bowling and other stuff like painting my warhammer armies as well so much, that I would go to the lanes at noon and bowl 12-15 games before league started to try to relieve me of the pissed off feeling that would just boil inside.

It would usually be around the 8th game or so where I would finally feel back to normal again, and instead of just throwing the ball picturing the ass of the person as the head pin, I would focus on hitting the pocket consistantly.

If by chance I'm still ticked off when league starts, I try to put my team ahead of it and just do the best I can for the better of the team.

Once I get home, it's all about killing in guild wars online a while that finally makes it go away.

Had another consistantly bad night, just cant seem to be able to swing strikes together and they even put a heavier pattern down tonight and I still was having a hard time keeping the ball off the nose. Switched to the sledge the 3rd game and played straight up and saved a terrible night. Had 182-193-233=608. I just cant seem to be able to brake out of the slump I have been in all season.

I finally have the release consistant and I am consistantly hitting my mark.

Now I just have to consistantly hit my single pin spares on the left side and I will be where I want to be.

I started league with a 150 avg. I am currently carrying a 161. Trying to get to 170 by the end of the year.

Been a minute since last post, but school finals to prepare for. They changed our shot with a to weeks to go before the half and took oil from 10 out on both sides and created a great deal of change. Preferring to shoot more of a down and in just outside the track area this caused a little bit of change in my shot. :eek: Shot 560, 547, 592, 601 and 541 trying to adjust. :confused: Last night I shot 177, 214, and 213 for a 604 in the first shift, and shot 256, 233 and 199 in the second for a 688 and the first half championship in the other league. :D Was tough visualizing the change of angle and readjusting ball track to avoid hang. Shot both sets with BW and NMB. I'll be all better after the holidays.

Finally broke the 600 barrier. 225, 266 (new high game) and 139 for a 630. My average is 175. Struggled pretty bad the last game. Shoulda stayed with my Toxic but my NM hasn't seen much play in a while so I threw it the entire last game. I strung 8 strikes together for the 266. I kept my cool until the attempt for the 9th, the shakes started coming on strong. A definite happy night.

Currently averaging 214. Also shot a clean set. Only had to shoot 1 7 count spare. The rest were 9's. The only bad ball was in the 12th frame of the 2nd game. Let it out too far and left the 2-4-8-10. But it was the last ball of the game. Better the last then the first.

UGH i hate this league so much. They don't oil. Was playing my equation in and was bowling decent. The first game was caused by me missing right and having too much angle in the backend and leaving 2-10's fixed that problem by not dropping my shoulder. In the last game i decided to keep the same speed, but back my hand out and just go up the back with little lift and did good.

Happy New Year to all. I had an enjoyable holiday season and hope you all did too. Got several new toys from the wife for Christmas. Another solid Widow, a Doom, and a Pearl Fury and Twisted Fury. Had the Widow and Doom drilled already and shot 235, 207, 235 for 677 last Thurs, and 206, 245, 259 for 710 tonight. Wife said she bought the Fury's for me because they are 'pretty' I'll try the twisted and see if it can match the pure hitting power of a Hammer.:D Good finish for half and good start to the New Year. Finally getting a breakthrough in my performance

This is the first back to back 600 series I have ever had - both were bowled with my precious BV using a new release for me. I have been working tirelessly over the past month tuning my new release. Both lanes I bowl at tend to score well with down and in shots. I tweaked my release to reduce revs and axis, which reduced hook and made the hook more predictable.

I am now playing up the 10 board with a nice steady stroke (not forcing or trying to crank) and am scoring well.

Tonights series, I had 1 five bagger, 1 four baggers, and finished up the 3rd game with a 7 bagger (was open 3 of the first 4 frames till I pulled my head out of my arse and started concentrating on my hand motion again) 2nd game is where my head went in my arse...

Practice is getting more consistent and I am finally starting to hit my 10 pins better (the flat release helps) Tuesday night will be a test though....different house with a slightly different shot....Should play well for me though....

BubbaRay, I was using my Raw Hammer Pain for all three games. It's a differnet format than I've bowled before; bowl one game, move 1 pair to the right, bowl the second game then move another pair right for the third game. Don't know where our team score stands as it was the first weekend of the tournament and have 2 more weekends to go. Scheduled to shoot another team event with my wed night team next sat and double and singles the last sat. pretty much if you wanna show up and bowl you can as long as they have space available. if you wanna guaranteed spot you need to pay in advance. the shot was the normal house shot which is fairly slick up front, i think they buff it to 40ft not sure though. very tuff at times to carry the corner pins. my 3rd game i could've had the front 9 to start except for 6 stubborn 10 pins...darn pin.

well guys, im finally back. been off of the forums for a very long time. been bowlin about three nights a week for many months now in league. it finally payed off. on Nov. 19 i went and shot my first 700 series ever. had a 196 average at the time, not bad, not great either. first game shot a 246, pleased with this game. then shot a 173!!!!! i know bad right? and third game i bowled all 12 strikes for my first 300 ever, brought me to a 719. bowled all games with my 16# black widow. got the coveted 300 ring, 700 pin, and my 100 pins over average in a game watch(which turned out to be a piece o crap) but anyways though i would share that with yall. and for those of you who dont remember me, i am one of the first ones on this forum to join Team Black Widow, so yeah its been close to a year since i was on this site

Today looked like a good day, however, it appears I'm going to miss my No Mercy :(.

First game 201, searching for a line with my new Bite, threw the last 4 and was feeling good.

Second game - 208, 8 strikes, really screwed up on my spares. 2-3 pins on the left side (coming in light, mostly early in the game) which I normally throw my No Mercy at and I can't keep my T-Road or Bite on line with them. Also the lanes started breaking down.

Last game - 147, Really a crash course on learning when to just put the new ball away and pull out the less aggressive one. Had some nasty spilts.

So, I bowled pretty bad, but I learned (the hard way) a lesson or two for the future.

I started tonight using the ball that I have the hardest time with in my arsenal... the Cherry VIBE. I threw it all night. I think I know how (moreso Where) the ball likes to be thrown now. My house isn't oiled outside of the 10, so I was standing on the 23, hitting the 14/13 at the arrows, it'd swing out to the 10-11, and she'd just run really long down the lane and then snap into the pocket.

I started with a very bad 147 game. All kinds of bad hits, splits, and some open frames (apparently I couldn't hit squat with my spareball first game). I punched out, though, and continued into the second game.

1st Game: 149
2nd Game: 246
3rd Game: 254

Good save for a guy with a 182 average ;) We were up against one of those teams that normally destroys their opposition and takes all 4 points. We split ;) 2 and 2. I feel pretty good.

I used my no mercy at 2000 for the game one and part of game two. I switched to my rico toxic at 2000 for the rest of the night. I hit the pocket more with the toxic but my carry percentage suffered. I made small adjustments but nothing really worked. I could have tried some other things but I was content leaving easy spares as my opponent was struggling and I won my games.

Today was another good day for me.

203-206-248, 657, the last game I switched to my T-Road and played straight up the 10-board because my Bite had lost its line and was going through the nose. However, my teammate shot a 278 the last game as well,so that was pretty cool.

Average now at around 195, still need a fewmore 650+s to hit my goal of a 200 average by the end of the season. Also only missed one non-split spare (10 pin, only miss of 5, wish I had that back) and missed 2 splits.

I had a bout of bad bowling for a few weeks around and right after the holidays. I recently came out of my slump and can you guess why that slump occurred? Yep, I wasn't practicing.

Over the past two weeks, I've been practicing and last time out, shot 588. Not my best but above my average. Best part was my consistency and spare shooting. I'm not sure if that's what's going on with your game but when my game gets that bad, lack of practice is usually the culprit.

OK, haven't posted anything on this thread yet. So, tonight I subbed for a friend who had some recent heart problems. Been subbing for a few weeks now.

Shot 210, 156, 266 for a 632 series. The reason I'm posting this set is because I came as close to a 300 game as I ever had. I started with strikes in the front 9. I wouldn't say nerves got to me but I didn't get my hand in the ball in the 10th and hit light and left the 2-7 split. Then I missed it just left of the 2 pin.

I feel like my game is coming back to me though and I know that my good 'ole Pain still has lots of life left in it. I found out that starting Friday, they widened and lengthened the pattern to make it a little tougher. The new surface was hooking more than they like but I actually like the new pattern better because the oil holds up longer.

In three games, I only had to move one measly board left and used the same ball. The biggest factor is that I've been practicing though. I guess I'm the type of person who really needs the practice to stay sharp. I made all of my right side spares tonight and at this point, I'm actually more comfortable shooting right side spares. I've taken a weakness and turned it into a strength by practicing them.

That damn 2-7 that I got in the 10th is a spare that I rarely see, so I don't get much of a chance to practice it. I get plenty of 3-10's though.

Anyway, overall, a good night but I wish I would have gotten my average in the second game.

I totally bombed this week.

The oil was light, and I didn't bring my Razor with me. I was leaving splits all night long, and not baby splits. I picked up about half of them. Flattening out would leave corners, cranking would go Brooklyn, and a "power stroker" shot (Chris Barnes) was leaving splits off of pocket hits. I couldn't keep the TNV on the lanes so I was using my Cherry VIBE. Just a wierd night. But it wasn't only me, so I don't feel too bad. And we still took 3 games ;) (lost last game but took 1, 2, and Total Pins).

135, 180, 146 = 461 series. OUCH! So much for that 183 avg.

I need to get a bigger (or another) ball bag so I can carry more balls with me.

Last night shot 200, 176, 200. I'm not sure what happened the 2nd game both teams shot much lower scores than the first game.

However, they left the door open in the 10th and I needed to roll 2 strikes for us to win it and did.

Then in the 3rd game the first 6 frames were solid pocket shots that all left the 8 pin standing.

Overall, we won all 4 points and moved into 3rd place and I was still 15 pins over average for series so I can't complain too much.

OK, I finally had a night worth patting myself on the back about. I got my 1st and 2nd 200’s, 1st Clean, and 1st 600. 224 (clean) – 181 – 200. I finally got it through my thick head that just because I got a new ball (BWS) I didn’t magically develop a big hook. I moved back to the right and played around on the 10 board all night and BINGO. I should have done that three weeks ago. It was the first night in since the 2nd half started that I was over my average all three games. I guess I’ll be hangin’ out on the right side for a while.
More importantly we took all 7 and moved out of last place. woohoo:D

168 (vertigo), 138 (vertigo), 142 (recovery), 189 (passion & vertigo.....) im ashamed to say 636 for the series (no i wasnt playing 3 games :()

one lane went long and the other went shgort i ended up taking my entire arsonal out of my bowling bag and thats a rarity for me

i did however spare the 10 pin 75% of the time which is also a rarity for me (i hate the 10) so it wasnt a total loss i guess

Well, wasnt too good at all, missed 2 10 pins and a 4 pin in the first game, which also led to an open in the first frame..Second game didnt start too good but i came back with the back 7, so eh..

Right now i am in the top 6 for averages in our division :)

Going for 1st team all county this year, going to try to get that up a couple pins next week so theres less of a chance someone can come up and jump in front of me the last week ;)

Had a great night , really starting to come on the last 2 months or so. I polished the Bite being that the length was running out with the factory finish by the mid point of game 2.

Shot 193, 235,and 212....639 series..2nd best and I'm sure the average will go up a couple. I have 12 weeks left and I'm shooting for a 190 avg to close out the season. Started the season with 161

I Bowled 279 with the Hammer Black Widow Last Night after work
i work as a full time mechanic at a 18 lane center
so bowl a few games after work
other game were 205+196+279=680 witch is a little lower than most but i had trouble carrying on the one lane instead of a 5 bagger i strike solid 9 pin 2 times that was the 196 game and only had one open

a hand position change and was at difference. then a few frames after that i had 7 in a row so that's they way it goes in this sport

So I have a story, last night bowled horrible, 487 series haha. And my team missed last week and we were staying after to post bowl. The other team recommended we wait a week it was that bad lol. But I start out just fine, on a clean game and first shot in the tenth, a pocket 7-10 split. Ended up shooting a 213, not bad considering how I started. Then I follow up with a 234, and start out with the front 6 on the third game. I 9/ the seventh frame, and four bagger into the last ball in the tenth. So now, I've locked in my first 700 series and Im pretty happy, and keep in mind I dont get nervous, I just hurry and go up to bowl. The ball starts falling off my hand to the right and goes directly in the gutter! Still ended up with a 269 for a 716 series, but all I can think about is that gutter and not bowling my best series. Oh well, ill have to just slow down and not do anything stupid next time, its really annoying haha

Most people wouldn't be pissy after tossing a 713 (229, 215, 269),,, but I kinda am, only missed being dead in the pocket TWICE! Clean the whole night and (everyone says it, but I belive it for this night) SHOULD've had 279, 278, 300!!!!!!
