shot 179, 248, 201, 218 on scorpian pattern monday. used my toxic.

first game 180+, missed TP in 1st:o and one washout.
second game 250+ anger was dialed in after removing tape.
third game 180+, switched to perl after anger quit moving.

I think my anger is washed up. instead of moving left as the game went on, I had to keep moving right as it wouldnt make a move to the pocket. It gave up more and more as the night went on.

Could it have been carry down that caused the Anger not to move as much? I doubt if the Anger is washed up. I know you keep a good cleaning routine but give it a real good bath and maybe try adujusting the cover a tad.

I'll be honest with you VMS, sometimes my BWP out hooks my Bite and Anger. I tried everything I had 2 weeks agao on the Chameleon pattern except the pearl. Nothing would finish proberly . Took out the pearl and went 223 - 254 -223 after a 171 start with everything else excdept the pearl

u did a lot better cuz u pre bowled, lanes didnt change too much while u threw. happened to my buddy on same pattern, pre bowl he shot 159, 240, 255, 234. but when he didnt pre bowl he had no idea what he was doing with other people on the lanes with him moving the oil around

I'm definitely getting better from PBA shots.

My Anger needs cleaning hahah, it doesnt get effected by carry down, but I have a huge flare increasing X hole, and a pin under drill (5 inches to pap just about). The Anger rolls in the mids and continues on the back through the carrydown for me, I havent found any oil the ball cant handle. Wont bowl on Shark til fall leagues though.

Well, it's official I am a gawd awful bowler. I have 141 average.. First year so I'm not very good yet. This was my worst night all year. Until last night my worst game was a 127 and that was the first week. I just couldn't hit the head pin for nothin' last night. arrrrg.. Still playing injured though.. But I don't count that as an excuse since I was playing injured last week with 170, 175, 145.

My timing was off HORRIBLY. The lanes were dry and I was revving it, and couldn't get speed. Not a good combo.

Then later my Singles league, Redemption time, yeah right. Coudn't get the 10 pin out the rack, nor pick it up. It also didn't help that i left
4-6-7-10(2), 7-10, 2-10(2), 5-10, 3 baby splits, and a 4-6

Had a pretty good nite (for me)7/17/08 bowled a 200, 233, 181, & 209. I made up my mind I'd only use my Brunswick purple/silver/pearl Power Groove reactive. They just oiled the lanes and I like a little swing shot over the third arrow to around the second arrow shot which finished nicely with a strong back end, I get pretty decent revs of about 3 to 400 (guessing) and project the ball down the lane...oh yeah the lane machine broke and laid oil all the way thru the heads on boards 1 - 5. Killed my partner as that's his shot.

the lanes had more oil then before, so I started with the No Mercy and in the middle of the 3th switched to the BWP (and started to spare again after 5 open frames.

Played the new and improved Scorpion tonight. "Tweaked Scorpion" is longer with a heavier oil ratio and where the oil is has been moved slightly. Found a nice line right up the 6-7 board with medium revs. Ball speed had to stay around 15.75 mph for my 16 pound polished BWS with the big hook drill,but I could get up to 16.50 mph with the 15 pound N'sane LevRG,OOB,5-3/4 over and a 1/2 up.

Fresh oil, medium not the usual med-heavy layer they put down for some reason. Had one of my best series in this league tonight, left all team bs behind and went there to have fun and try to pick up a few points.

Struck out the 9th and 10th frames twice tonight, managed to be more consistant in my spares and not let those I missed that should've picked up get to me.

bowled with my new Psycho yesterday. entirely overhauled my grip, span, pitches and such. now, hand is much more relaxed. took 3 games last week to get used to the major change in the grip overhaul, then went bowling with the wife yesterday. started off cold with no warmup and shot games of 257-253-209 = 719 series. only left 2 opens, a 4-9 split that i just missed converting and a 3-6-7-10 that also was a close call. best part was...didn't leave a single 10 pin. awsome ball, can't wait for league to start.

downside...now i've got to get everthing redrilled to match...but it'll be worth it!!!

Well I'm feeling stronger now, I threw 5 practice games on Weds just trying different balls, lines, and shots then took my daughter bowling on Thurs and felt REAL good, originally going to bowl 3 games wound up bowling 5 ending with a 234 & a 242. Turned out to be a bad idea as I'm so not in shape after a 5 year layoff and major back surgery 6 months ago, my league was the same night. Started out on fire with 10 strikes and a 264, then my wrist and fingers just lost all strength like someone flipped a switch. 158, 148 & finally a 174 completed my night, I so got to build my endurance and strength back up to what it was before my back forced me to quit, 15 games per day wouldn't even make me sweat.

854 for 4 games on one of kegels challenge patterns called middle of the road. I had been struggling on this pattern but I figured out that my eyes were floating and not staying on my mark. I used a Hammer Black Widow Bite I love this ball on a inside line and middle of the road is the rite name for the pattern because I play it at about 18 at the arrows and go out to 14 at the break point and stand 8 board left of the center dot. I had games of 192+225+223+214=854.

Threw 601 last night with the Toxic, should have had much better series, but I killed it with the last game, the Toxic started getting killed by LIGHT carrydown, I had a urethane ball handy and salvaged the game to barely shoot a 6, the urethane handles carrydown better than the Toxic...that's pretty sad.

I had my first league 200 game, with a even 200. Messed up the first two frames, by leaving them open, then from then on it was spares and a run of 6 strikes in a row.

Typically, after a good game I slump big time the next, and the second game started looking like that the first 5 frames, not even able to mark in any of them, then from the 6th frame on was all spares or strikes, and finished with a 177.

Third game I had a few frames where I was missing my mark and turnng my shoulder, but managed a run of 5 strikes in a row and finished with a 150.

Best series of the seaon for me, finished with a 527 scratch and 746 Handicap series.

Tuesday night, our last position night, I shot a 268 with my Twisted Fury.
Will give me High scratch game and Handicap game of the year for our league.
As long as you ignore the fact, that even with a 268, I still didn't break a 600 series, it was a good night. Not sure what happend. In practice I threw 4 in a row, threw a few corner spare practice shots, and sat down.
Spent the entire first game, trying to find the pocket, 2nd game was the 268, and the third game, the ball was dead and wouldn't do a damn thing.
Oh well, Sweeper night next week!

It was just THS with a tube between 16r and 11r with a exit point at around 9, but they transistioned pretty quick with my vendom to the point i had to go with a ball similar length but with a touch less break

not to bad for the first night out, still had several shots where i kept trying to "help" or force the ball instead of just relaxing my swing and following thru the shot. gonna take me a while to get used to having a comfortable, relaxed swing and i can already feel my timing getting better. also feel more comfortable with my new speed which slowed slightly but i think will come back once i get fully used to everything.

I'm 19 (its really hard to find good bowlers under 25???..anyways) I threw a 300 286 289 = 875! Using my Black widow venom and Black widow pearl. What really sucks...it was a scratch off ticket league, meaning it cant be santioned.../sigh figures!!!

My friend who I've been helping this season with his spare & mental game as well as his delivery, last night knowing that all his team needed to do was win one game to take first place overall, and after I was telling him before league started how histeam will need him pick up his game from last week (which was 118/136/150) and to bring that same 150 game into the first game with him.

Well, seems he went absolutely nuts, because after the 4th frame his captain comes over and tells me that he can't believe what he's seeing and neither can his entire team and the people they are bowling against (the 2nd place team), I go over there and he's got 4 strikes for the first four frames, and picks up a 7/ as I'm watching.

I go back over and it's in the 9th frame, and he has another string of 3 strikes he's playing off of, and he gets a 7-. The 10th starts with a strike and he gets a 8 and can't pick it up, he finishes with a 192 game his personal best.

He was hitting his mark with the first ball, kept his arm straight and followed through, and took his time. Spares he didnt rush himself, and lines up correctly like I've been showing him all season long and just nailed it leaving only 2 open frames the whole game.

I even went to the front desk and had them announce this great moment for him, and the whole league gave him a standing O. Was just amazing to see it all click for him.

Well had my second night of the new seaon last night and had 658. I used the Venom playing 12-4. The inside was alittle flooded so I stayed mainly more swinging out to 4. Second game I did try my normal inside linebut to many 10's because of the amount of oil. The Venom moved playing this line but just didn't have the continuation through the pins. When I went back out to 12-4 the third game the ball moved with a very strong continuation.

I'm happy with a 658.

After my terrible outing in the tournament yesterday, I decided to practice, but I do not know the pattern that we bowled on so I put out a pba pattern called scorpion. I like this version of the scorpion it is not too hard but not easy and not what I bowled on ether - I had a 204+215+213 I did feel better but my brain is messed up. See I bowl on wood and they have synthetic, I really wish I could get that pattern that they used.

First night of the new Fall/Winter league. I had a really nice shot all night...I didn't need to adjust hardly at all throughout all three games. I got lucky strikes on several shots that went high and should have left me some ugly splits. But hey...you also have have nights when you are throwing perfect pocket shots and no matter how you adjust the stinkin' 10-pin or 9-pin just stands there waving at you. :)

Last night was also the first night of my Monday nite league. Kinda struggled the first game. Every thing I threw seemed to be too strong off the dry. I tried the EV / Razyr / Psycho / Raw Anger / and the BWP . I didn't even think about my Venom. Had 130 the first game. Yes , you read right, 130. Then I decided to pull out the polished Venom the 2nd game and had 220. 3rd game had 247 for a 597 for the night. Go figure the strongest ball worked the best off the dry. :rolleyes: :confused: :confused:

Tonight is a little drier so I will start with the Venom and then work my way down. Subbing tonight.

another monday gone its my third week on mondays i had a good shot same as the last 2 weeks but others complained about the shot being inconsistent but my shos has been very consistent i had 222,204,262 =688 raised my 222 ave to a 224 ave i havent shot under 600 yet to be exact 642 is my low so far and my third 260+ game this new season already. usually i dont start out this good so should be interesting year. its tuesday have league tonight so will report back with results

Well I subbed for the first night of a Tuesday nite league. And I will tell you it was a disaster. This house seems to be up to their old tricks again. Same house I bowled in Last night . Tonight was a night to chalk up to experience. I didn't even hit 500 tonight. Every game was lower than the first. I usually do not blame the lanes but tonight it was. They were flooded beyond anything I have ever seen. I mean flooded. I tried everything I had tonight and every thing went dead straight. I also played every possible angle from inside / inside -out / straight down outside, down 5 / down 10 well you get the idea. The result was a whopping 472. :eek: No, That was no typo. 1t game 163 :rolleyes: / 2nd game 156 :confused: / 3rd game 153 :mad: . I have never seen anything like this for a condition before in my life.

Last night of summer PBAX league on the Shark. Also a good lesson for the future.

128 - Lost all game, moved way in with my Toxic struck twice, moved out with my Bite playing right up 8-9.

225 - Started XXX then left a 2-10 and made it. The line started disappearing but it held enough for me to remain clean.

131- Wee. Bite started to hook early. Bash wouldn't finish. Toxic way too strong on the outside, flipped like crazy on the inside. Threw the Psycho on the last ball, flew, wee.

Lesson for the night, and for the league; I really need to learn my equipment better. Once my Bite started to hook early I was lost, I should know what to do when that happens.

Well, it felt good to type it out.

-the center found us a 4th bowler to start with us last night. dont' know how long we'll keep him. throws a Viz a ball with only his fingers and no thumb, thinks it looks cool all the revs he's getting or something. hasn't got a clue as to where the ball is going...one shot hits the 1st arrow, next he'll hit the 3rd arrow. totally just spreads the oil around very erraticly, causing some funky carrydown for everyone else. going to have to call upon all my patience and Marine Corps training to put up with this guy and figure out a way to adjust to his trashing of the shot.

Had a rough night last night in league(well just a stubborn night), used my Bite from 20-5.

Had 229 (had last 6), 187(ughh splits), 232 (4 7 pins)= 648.

Was 8 for 8 shooting 7 pins again so was happy with that but was very stupid the first half of the first fame and the whole second game.

after the second game my thumbs started to get stuck in the ball again.
this is the third week in a row that's it's doing that.
I thought it was the leftover of the clean and dull that I was using on the towel, however some people said it was because my thumb started to swell because the weather (during the day it was hot)

what do you think is causing this.
It started 3 weeks ago when started to use the clean and dull, it is also some weeks that it's extremely hot during the day (we play at night tough)

Went bowling at league last night..

First game I rolled a 237... thought to myself, yeah pretty good, 2nd game rolled a 195.. hmmm a bit lower then would have liked but ok.. third game rolled a 289.. yeah thats more like it! went from 10, left an 8 pin on my next shot LOL then followed with a 176 game haha oh well, finished with an 897 series, 224 ave over 4 games, was not to bad for a nights bowling

Add another 300 to my list...204-193-300...what an amazing thing a ball change is :). was using a Black widow bite, changed to black widow venom to go a touch longer down the lane. was nice to throw the first 300 on the highest averaging league in Minnesota! park grove bowl Thursday nights. (i think last years overall average for everyone was 211)

started as the leagues new secretary tonight and the first nights are always hectic due to all the stuff that has to be delt with so my mind wasn't fully concentrating on my game very well. used my newly drilled new Hammer Pain the first game and since it's only got 3 games on it the thing hooks a lot. finally switched to my Psycho the tenth frame of the first game and did a lot better after that. still learning to adjust my lines with the new specs i've got my balls drilled at; i've came down on my speed about 2-3 miles an hour but my swing it much freer with a lot less effort.
