Well lately I haven't been bowling like I used to. Before when ever I bowled I would always have a game or 2 above 200 but now all my scores are staying dead on average or 20-30 pins better. My sanctioned league average is now 136 which is still pretty bad. Today I shot 166, 132 and 136:confused: . I hope my average gets back to the 160 range where it used to be, maybe it will after I get my cherry vibe.

The vibe is a good choice of ball. Maybe it could be you are trying to hard. Everyone has some bad days at this game , so don't let it bother you too much. As long as your hitting your avg. and up to 30 pins higher in a game in score you are doing just fine. The higher scores will come.

yeah I feel ya, I in no way can bowl to save my life for 2 years going now. 2 years ago and for years before that I was a 190 ave. bowler and now for the past 2 years I have going down way down. I am currently in the 160 range with no signs of hope. My wife won't let me quit and I have desire to return due me being the sole reason we lose and before you say it is a team sport, let me say when your team loses by 20 and eveyone else in over average and you are 30 under with an open in the 10th you are the goat.
Not to steal your thread but I guess we just roll with it man and fight through it trying not to think about it too much. My advice woud be to keep your head up and don't be too hard on yourself cause that will make it worse (trust me I know).

Never say there isn't any sign of hope. There always is. You just might need to have someone who knows how you bowl take a look at you and see if they can spot the thing in you delivery that is causing you to bowl below your avg. You also might be trying to hard to get back where you were. Go back to the basics and start from there. How's the ball. Is it time for a new one? All these things make a difference.

Matt I don't think it's the ball that's the problem. On your other thread you asked where we looked on the lane. You said you looked DOWN at the foul line. You shouldn't be doing that. Gotta keep your head up and looking out ALONG the path you want the ball to roll on. Somewhere out around the arrows is okay. Your brain will process the picture you're looking at,and if you stare at one particular spot, the brain will make the arm throw the ball to that spot. Try looking down the lane and see if that doesn't help.

Actually, beginners can benefit from looking down closer to the foul line, as it gives them stronger roll with less skid. Some pros, Wes Malott, for example, use the foul line for targeting. Also, I doubt his choice of wording necessarily all that important. I look _down_ at the arrows. I also look _along_ my ball path. Apples and oranges. Besides, he said he tries to look at the arrows most of the time. I doubt that his targeting method needs drastic changes before his physical game can get better.

Well I know we can rule out the equipment and needing to have it cleaned, we can also rule out not hitting my mark and getting hand in the ball. The two concerning things are speed and my mind. My ball speed is high and my mind is shot. These two factors I am sure of the others if any I don't really know. The first week I shot 620 and the two next weeks I didnt shoot 500:eek: ............... oh well I guess

Probably a 12 oor 13 maybe. I think maybe I release the ball on the lane a little to smoothly and I think I should loft it out just a little more. My coach says you'r ball should hit about 2 feet in front of the foul line but mine hits like 6 inches above the foul line. Sometimes in league play I get so nervous on my spares that I accidently pull my ball to the left on accident. I still think I will bowl better with a Cherry Vibe though.
