I wish I would have taken some before photos. As you all know my wifes old Hammer FaBall 3D was recently brought out of storage and redrilled for my southpaw.

When we pulled it out of my mother in laws closet it looked black with slight hints of blue in it. After it was redrilled and polished it showed more hints of dark blue. I used it for one leauge night and then decided to give it a good cleaning.

I did the hot water and dawn soap in a bucket idea. 15min pulled it out and wiped it down and low and behold the ball in areas is a light blue now, man that ball must have been oily. There are still some dark spots so im hoping another bath or two will do it. After that I have some "Hook Again" on order with hopes that i can bring the ball back to its good old self.

I still cant get my mom give up her Black Hammer. I said "Mom thats a really nice hammer in your bag in the basement" she says "yeah it is I paid good money for it too". Seems shes not letting it go anytime soon. Dad said I could have his but I have yet to look it over and see what it is but I know its not a hammer.

Here is a picture I took with my cell phone, ill get better ones soon. But you can see the very light colors and the darm spots uptop. It really is a nice looking ball nice looking pattern. Also you can see the layout on the ball. I told the shop to drill it for a new fingertip thrower, can anyone explain to me the signifigance of the pin placement?

Dunno about the ball but they're pretty good pics for a cellphone. Which make/model is it out of interest?

whta are the suggestions for how hot of water and how much soap to use? I was using water straight from the tap, approx 110-120deg and Dawn Foaming liquid soap. Any help is scrubbing the ball with a soft brush?

Something I have been doing is wet the ball (just warm water), load hands up with soap lather the ball up, let it sit for a couple of minute, then submerge in bucket of hot water. Then rinse the ball off good, before place in not another bucket of fresh hot water (this is usually repeated a couple times).

Wipe the ball dry everytime its pulled out of the bucket.

Those photo's look good for a phone, btw.

The water from the tap is fine, wouldn't use a brush on it. The Dawn will draw the oil out of the ball just fine. You just have to repeat the process until no more oil comes out of the ball.

Ok so I soaked it in clean water once more this morning and dried it off. Lgave it a good through rinse down and wiped off with a microfiber cloth and once it was dried up viola.... Now all the scratches and nicks really show up since all that oil is gone. Im hoping it reacts much better then it did before it used to be pitch black ball lol... Also wanting to touch up those logos.
