hi all. first post here. i am just about ready to buy a big blue pearl / big blue spare package. just wanted to run something by you guys first.

i started with a 14lb brunswick goliath. wrist was in terrible pain. went down to a 13lb storm big hit particle. wrist is a little better but still gets sore after the 4th or 5th game.

as far as the big blue pearl goes, is there a huge difference between the way the 12 and 13 hit? i would like to put my money towards a 12lb big blue but if moving up to a 13lb big blue will get me more strikes, then i'll go for the 13lb. what do you guys think? thanks.

According to the numbers on the RG and Differential stats for the 12 and 13 pound Big Blue Pearl the 13# will start its roll a little sooner and move slightly harder at its break point. Thus the 13# is slightly more aggressive, but also more weight equals more "pin action", i.e. how the pins scatter on the deck. However, if you have accuracy/control problems or physical limitations then go with the 12 pound ball. Don't ever go lighter than 12 though, because you get a completely different core.

P.S. If you have wrist problems make sure you have a properly drilled ball and use proper release technique. Buy a wrist brace at a local pro-shop. Do some wrist curls with a light dumbell or a spring hand grip exercisers, or even constantly squeesing a novelty stress reliever toys!

A 13 pound ball will carry better than a 12 pound ball. This ball is great for bowlers that do not have a lot of ball speed.

my mom throws a 12# throttle/r and it won't hook for her but her 13# fire hooks like crazy and hit like a stick of dynomite.
