Well, I went bowling tonight, BW reacted the same, 5 boards more of hook than Cherry Vibe. Only really hit pocket through the dry.
Well...one of the guys who works up there now is starting a pro shop in there. So I talked to him. He knew I took care of the ball well by seeing it, and figured I was a high tracker judging from the amount of hook the drill was giving me. He told me what Bubba told me, if he were to redrill it, he would put the mass bias below the VAL in the "strong" position. He said when his shop was set back up he could resurface it, and redrill it for what I'm looking for. He said that the drill I have isnt that bad of a drill, just since my track has gotten higher, the drill doesnt do much now.
My little brother is being stupid over this and calling this "bowling munbo jumbo" about the pin to PAP, CG position, and mass bias position (me and this guy talked about this for a while). My brother says I should adjust the way I bowl to accommodate the ball, so I laughed at him. What do you think about this? Should I adjust the way I throw and throw softer and with a lower track to get the ball to move more or just get it redrilled to accommodate the way I bowl now?
Happy still though because the BW, even though on its last leg, has some hope. The guy basically said with the amount of games I have on it, resurfacing might not do too much with it, but redrilling in the way described above, with resurfacing would prolong the life of the ball and get it rolling the way I want it to.

Smack your brother in the head for me. You make the ball fit your game, not the other way around. Get it redrilled and have some fun with it!:)

Let your brother read the post about the Pins / CG / mass bias loacations and he might look at this alittle diferently. I would get the ball drilled to suit the wayyou throw now like Rowdy stated. Ask your brother if he threw aplastic ball for strikes would HE adjust his game to suit the ball? I bet he says NO.
Give the new proshop guy a try. If the ball does more that what you expected , I have to say this guy know's what he's talking about and doing. Sounds like he does by what you stated. Stay with this guy for all your work. Good luck and let us know how the ball turned out for you.

Finding a person/pro shop that can do what they say and do it correctly the first time is the best way to build that trust that is needed between the pro-shop and customer. Finding one that is willing to take the time and explain to you and even help you with the right equipment is more difficult than it seems.
Here in Sin City, I go to a place K&K bowling for all my equipment because they are exactly what a pro-shop should be, and most importantly for me they are honest people. When I have questions about and Hammer ball that I want to get and about how it should be drilled to fit how I bowl, they take the time to tell me how the ball would react depending on the drilling of it.
When my g/f asked if she should get another ball to go with the big B mamoth that she will be getting this coming month, they told her not to get one until she's bowled with it for a season so she can get use to it, before expanding her future arsenal.
When she asked that at 3 other pro-shops, they all informed her to buy another ball to go with it now, and don't bother waiting to get use to the mamoth.
It's that kind of honesty from K&K that has make me a loyal customer to them, and the entire staff are all friendly.
So, my suggestion is to give this guy who wants to start his own pro-shop a chance since he seem to be on top of things, and seems honest as well from what you've said, and see how it goes from there. You just might have found that person/pro-shop that most people look for and haven't found yet.
I've been asked by a few other pro-shops at other casino's to give them a try and I've politely said not thanks to them since I'm happy going to K&K.
Best of luck to you.

Bubba-I've seen him throw his plastic ball for strikes, he does adjust his game. His biggest problem is the fact he always throws from the left ditch (right handed) so his speed stays way down and all of his good games are on fried lanes. Also he keeps buying balls and getting drills that react better to higher speeds on them...good thing he's getting a coach soon.
This guy is pretty nice and I know he knows what he's talking about. He took the time to explain everything to my mom and brother and me (i knew it already, but confirmed that I do know the truth)

A good honest pro shop is worth its wait in gold, i have went to three different guys for pro shop questions and what not and i finally found a shop that they are
1. not just in it to make money off me
2. honest about all products they sell
3. work with me off and on the lanes
4. are always friendly to me whenever they see me (and actually remember my name)
5. Give me free stuff sometimes. . . hahaha
the last one is a just got a target zone from my pro shop he is going to charge me 10 dollars to drill and regrip it for me.

The guy I normally go to does all of that. Going to try someone who apprenticed under him about 6 years ago. This guy has a good reputation, one of the adults I know that used to be on pro tour gets her things drilled by him.

xGatez gotta agree with everything you said. My 14 year old found a Angle in the rack at the lanes and loved the ball. But the thing had nicks all over it. Turns out it was an old ball one of the employees put in there because he had outgrown it. We asked how much for the ball and the manager said if we wanted it,take it. Took it into the pro shop there(it's where I get all my work done) and Fred Trickey had that ball for a couple of days. WOW! When we got it back it looked brand new! Fred also threw in some finger inserts! Taylor's average was 97 but since he got this Angle,he hasn't thrown a game under a 100. He's mostly in the 130's! And those scores were in heavy oil. He can't wait until League Nite! Not bad for a ball we have $30 into!
