Ok guys...I know a few of you own one or both of these balls and wanted suggestion....I will most likely be getting another heavy oil ball soon and was wondering...Anger...or No Mercy...I know most of you will say Anger cause its the new release..and I understand that...I was hooked on it as well..but the more I thought about it..the more I remember all the great reviews for the NM...now I know without seeing me bowl it will be hard to say...but Im looking for pros and cons for the balls....I dont want the NM beat'n...cause if you want honesty ....to me..its flat out ugly...lol...I know looks dont make for performance..but its just I dont want to bowl with something I dont like the looks of lol....so...if you have one..or both...maybe some insight on the two.....thanks guys!

The NMB is probably the best ball if you are looking for the ball with the most agrgressive ball motion and lenght than the NM. This may be the way to go. As loing as it does the job , looks mean nothing.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------
The NM has the Hart core concept. If you are looking for a high performance ball, this ball will give you the most controlable hook but with an aggressive motion at the same time.
A 15# NM has a RG value of 2.51 which means it will go longer before it starts it roll.
The Diff. value is .056 which means it has more overall hook potential.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------
If you are looking for a mid priced ball The ANger is the way to go
A 15# anger has the modified Raw Hammer core .
The RG value is 2.50 and the Dif value is .050
This ball depending how it's drilled will pick up the roll alittle earlier than the NM and the BW
--------------------------------------------------------------------------
whatever ball you choose, you can't go wrong.

I agree with what Bubba said. Decide if you want early rolling smooth arc ....Anger Or do you want more skid/snap type of reaction...NM.
I personally feel that symetric cores are better on heavy oil or longer patterns. Its easier to make them early rolling, smooth arcing in reaction.

Hey splitmaster, i would go with the anger. The reason why is because the no mercy is pretty hard to drill and if you dont drill it right, it could be a new doorstop or an anchor. And i'm sorry but i dont believe a long ball could be used for heavy oil. The anger is more mid-lane roll than the no mercy.

I think I may be leaning towards an Anger at the moment...I dont like the look of a sanded ball...and as I stated, I know looks dont make the reaction....and I admit that the Anger does look pretty good as is..so being it is 2000 sanded I wonder how it would work if I sanded it down to 1000 and polished it.

Bringin it down to 1000 and polishing it will probably give it alittle more length before it makes it's move at the break point. There are sometimes when a surface adjustment is necessary like sanding it and having to use it. But you can always adujst it back to get that look you don't like off. Good luck on what you decide and let us know how it works for you. You are going to love this ball.
is this a bowling ball beauty contest?...LOL
Splitmaster, what balls do you have now?

LOL...no it isnt a beauty contest and I know what you are saying that but Im picky...I do judge my purchases sometimes on both looks and reaction..but thats just me..call me different lol..Ive got my lane conditions covered as far as balls..I just havent bought one in a couple months and its due time to spend a little money is all.

when i wanted to buy my first ball the only reason i went with the toxic is because i thought it look cool.
SplitMaster

Yeah the toxic is a cool looking ball..its why I got mine...and balls and balls later...I still tend to let looks have a part in my purchases....but thats just me I guess....I know its about reaction and how the ball fits my game...but I'll buy a ball and play with the cover to suit my needs.

I don't care if it's orange with pink polka dots as long as it knocks all the pins down!:D

I'll put it like this:
If you want a pretty ball, then go buy a storm (plus you also get that perfume smell to it as a bonus), if you want a ball that will perform when called on, then the Beat'N is that ball as is the Anger.
It would be like comparing Jessica Biel to rosie o'donnell if all your after is looks.
Hell, give me the ugliest ball Hammer makes for the situation I need it for over a pretty ball any day.

Well to each their own....looks are a part of my purchases....like I said..I can always adjust the coverstock to what I need...everyone has their preferences..

Hey, sorry if I seemed kinda harsh in my other thread, it wasn't my intent.
A friend took his storm ball because he felt that the color was distracting him from being productive with it and had it repainted in amercian flag pattern. Seems that you can have that done somewhere, so get the Beat'N and have it repainted to a color or pattern to your liking, and there you go.

There's nothing wrong with purchasing for looks. If it makes you feel cool, then do it. Besides seeing people throw a Black Widow and watching what it did, I got them because of the ominous spider etched into the cover. During league practice I hold it up and watch as everyone stares at it. I turn to them with a look of, "That's right, you're in for it now...my pretty Widow's don't take S**T!" Then I throw it right in the gutter so they think I suck, and then when I see that they are relaxed and confident about a win, I come at them with a 200...psychological league warfare at its finest.
Go on and get you something pretty. You buy a car because it's badass, you pick girlfriends because they're hot....so why not a bowling ball, which becomes like a girlfriend to most serious bowlers. When was the last time you sat down with your girlfriend or wife and polished them for close to an hour making sure they were squeaky clean?.....nuff said.

I get the same reaction from people with my BW and BWP as well, mainly because I'm the only person that throws Hammer the rest use maxim/storm/big B mostly, with a few columbia300 thrown in here and there.
When I bring out my skull ball people start looking at me funny, so I comment to them don't die soon or I'll have your head in there instead.
I keep my pet black widow right on top of my Hammer towels that way no one will go near them and attempt to use them.

Everyone think about this. Like some said , there is nothing wrong with purchasing by looks. After all people buy cars buy the colors. We buy clothes buy the wat they look. People interior decorate by looks. We landscape our lawns buy looks. I think we get the idea now right? Ss I have to agree also there is some awful looking balls out there and I'll be honest the other companies have some of the worst.

I took a few years off from bowling a while back, and of course I missed the Reactive Revolution ! LOL, But when I came back, one of the first things I noticed was that you can rarely find a solid color ball anymore and the uglier or more unusual the better !. I am a milkman by trade so of coure you know I had to have the Bruns Cowspot ball for a while for spares, and then the new Swirl too (put that middle of swirl on PAP and its cool.) But now I am throwing a maxim (BORING !! LOL) but guess what, it works ! I too like to pick out equipment by looks, But nowdays GOOD LUCK ! My big thing now is the ugly balls made unique by the diff color inserts. I once had a Rampage that we all called the Ketchup and Mustard Ball. So I installed green thumb and inserts and told them I had relish on mine ! But to throw in my 2 cents worth. Get the Beat'n What a ball it is. It also has an adjustable coverstock !

Of course you could buy a ball for it's "looks". But don't bitch when it turns out to be a dog! I buy my stuff for what it will do,not for how it looks. Gotta admit,as HammerHeads we've been lucky that the Widows and NoMercy's are pretty good looking! But some of the balls out there look like they were painted in the dark! They are SOME kinda ugly!!!

OI dont want the NM beat'n...cause if you want honesty ....to me..its flat out ugly...lol...
To be honest the beat'n looks way better after about 20 games. Once it absorbs some oil it has a clean finish look to it. And to be honest I bought it over the anger cause I thought it looked better ;)

That being said our league is a really heavy shot and I've really enjoying the hook and back end this ball is bringing to the heavy oil. Best of luck in your decision, I don't think you will go wrong either way!

Not true my storm smells good and can perform just fine. Thank you. As for your choice. My Anger is skid/flip with length to it. And let me tell you that beauty will roll right through the heavy oil and still look good doing it. It performs really nice in the heavy oil. also used it on the PBA shoot Chetta. Handeled it like the Hamer it is.

Which storm do you use?
I like my Beat'N for when oil is really heavy, and lately have been using it over my BW because it seems at times to out perform my BW when it's heavy. Sometimes, I use my anger in place of the BWP for the med-heavy to medium oil and have been happy with the results I get from it.
Which is why I find both of them a valuable part of my arsenal when things are goig bad, or both widows are not doing it for me.
