Your Release? Rev Rate?

I don't know if this thread has already been started before, but what is you'r release and rev rate? I beleive I am a tweener, but more on the stroker side. I never play perfect straight down the right and into the pocket. I lay the ball down maybe at 15-20, and shoot at 10-12 as the line I mostly play. I have maybe 250 revs, but I will know for sure when my coach gets BowlersMap. So what is your release and rev rat and the line you mostly play?

I have a powerstroker release...meaning all my revs derive from a small flick in my wrist, or staying under the ball long and coming out from under it later (requires lots of wrist strength)

I think I have somewhere in the neighborhood of 270 RPM...need to find something to calculate revs, I need a good camera for the front part of the lane trick, I know the ball rotates at least twice in the front part of the lane (I put alot of hand into it, and very little rotation to tame the hook)

I would say I'm a tweener because I can play straight up or hook the lane but normally I play right in between. I normally stand 25, throw through the 12, out to 5 ish and back. On bowlersmap I throw it at 18.9mph and have on average 379 revs. Have got the revs up to almost 500 at times when coach asks but normal is 350-400.

I have a friend who I really want to check his rev rate...I think he gets more revs than Robert Smith and Tommy Jones, he really cranks the ball, he throws on average I'd say 23-25 mph and usually cant throw the ball out very much (depending on the ball) because his rev rate makes the ball get behind the head pin. Its scary to watch him throw, but he is the picture perfect cranker (lol they're a little rough to watch)

probably a tweener, i really dont have the ball speed to be a cranker, yet i have way too much hand to be a stroker.

being serious... i'm a cranker... prob shooting anywhere between 300 and 450 rpm

Stroker with 280 RPM (measured at Nationals in Reno) playing from 25 out to 12-14 at arrows. That's my league shot right now. Can throw a little harder and move a little right with feet, or maintain about same speed and move a couple of boards left with feet and target.

My most comfortable speed is 15-16 MPH. Sometimes I see higher speed or lower speed on the monitor above the lanes.

I am a cranker. I stay with a cupped wrist from the start of my swing , right through to the release. At the point of release I crank my wrist counter clockwise . Rev rate is somewhere beyween 450-500. My elow is locked all the way through the swing. Usual line is 20-on out to around 5

Im a cranker I throw the ball with 2 hands all the way through my swing and snap my wrist at the bottom of the swing. I really dont know how many revs I have never had them measured.

Cranker/power stroker. I used to be a tweener until my coach helped me raise my ball speed (now it's 18-19) and use my arm velocity to create revs. On BowlersMap my rev rate is around 450.

After the way I rolled tonite,Stanker would about cover it. Dry synthetic lanes,overhooked everything. Damn am I glad that's over for another week!

As for the release and revs,usually the release is toward the pins. I tried it toward the settee area,but the other guys started bitching. And yes,the ball has revs. It goes around and around and around and around and around and(anyone getting dizzy,yet?)around and around. Then it knocks the crap outta some pins. Then I do it all over again. Keep going til Tink makes me stop.

ooo good question.

When I am in my 'comfort zone' I bowl 17mph and at I guess I would think around 400-450rpm. This is my normal relaxed release.

If I decide to rotate around the ball the revs increase to say 500 and my speed decreases to around 15-16mph, but i cover about twice as many boards.

If I really crank it and get it right, because my timing sucks like this it will rev like Robert Smith but I can only 'hit' it correct 1 out of 4 lol. So I stick to the two above!
