I have a 12# ball at the moment and am upgrading to the BWP. Im thinking to get a heavier ball because I cant seem to roll the ball I keep lofting it. Would switching to a 14# be too much of a change, or shold I go for a 13#.
Maybe this will help I get a little tired after throughing my 12# ball for 3 games while bowling by MYSELF. (Im leaning towards 13)

How old are you 15? If so I would go with the 14lb you wont really feel the difference if it is drilled right and fits you well.

Your release has ALOT more to do with your loft than the weight of your ball...Unless you are 13 years old...weigh 99 lbs and are 5 feet 1 inch..I would suggest go heavier...12 and 13 are not much of a difference...like Idle said...if it is drilled to your span with a good fit...a 15lb ball will feel as if it is 13....Id go 14 for sure..if not 15....the loft isnt going to change..you will still loft a 14 lb ball....its all in your release and where you lay four ball down

My son is 14 and we just bought a #14 BWS for him. You'll find that a well fitting #14 ball will seem lighter. He was using #12 Total inferno but the ball deflected quite a bit when it hit the pins. Now with the BW Solid, the ball drives right through rack. His strike percentage has risen dramatically. Hope the pearl works well for you.
How much do you weigh?
If you can handle it, would recommend the 14 over the 13. I think hammer starts the "real cores" at 14. The lighter balls use the Diesel core. I have an email from BG, I'll see if I can find it.

When you say you get tired after 3 games by yourself,I will assume that you're throwing the ball again as soon as it comes back. Bad,bad, bad. You gotta treat it like a League, roll your turn, then wait a bit before your next shot. I can show you a bunch of guys who when they practice shoot the lights out.240's-250's. Put 'em in a League or tournament situation and they can't roll their way out of a paper bag.150's-160's,if that. Other bowlers bug 'em. They just can't keep up with the lane changes with all the other bowlers on the same pair. I was taught to practice just like you bowl. I'll even roll next to a birthday party. If you can handle THAT, nothing will ever bother you on the lanes.

I just switched from 11# to 14# and I really don't notice that much of a difference EXCEPT that the ball doesn't deflect off the pins. I'd go with the 14...like the Hammer Pro told me at Demo Days, you'll get used to it!

You should really have a problem with a 14 poundball. it will seem odd at first but after 3 games it will be like you have used it all along.

I agree with bubba on the 14. i went from screwing around with my dads old 14 to a 16 for my first ball. i didnt really notice that much of a difference after a few games. I dropped to a 15 because i can control it much better. I dont think the 16 was a good idea considering im not a big guy at all (160 pounds) but it did help make me much more versatile with my 15s ball speed.

I vote for the 14... just because it does have the intended core for the Ball. But I'd be interested in one of these balls with the diesel core in 15. Those balls really hit well. This coverstock is really good. Most people who have thrown the balls with the gas mask core, say the BW line is the best of all of them. Mainly due to the good coverstocks.
