My cubbies are down and out at 0-2. As much as this may shock you guys, I would rather see the cubs win a world series instead of me bowling a 300. I am that diehard of a cubs fan. I have been so depressed the past two nights that it hasn't been good. Last night when I went to bed I felt like crying. And to top things off, all of the white sox fans that I know are rassing me about it. I'm just not having a good week. Hopefully bowling tonight will cheer me up a bit. Another bad thing is that the other 4 guys on my team are all sox fans.

Forget about the cubbies tonight. There is nothing you could do but root for them. Don't let your team mates bother you tonight. Remind them they are not at the game and all of you have a job to do tonight.

No sympathy from this Cardinals fan either. It'll all be over soon. You'll survive - it's in the true nature of all Cubs fans to survive year after year after year - well, since 1908 anyway ;)

I want the Cubbies to win the Series. I want them to do it so they stop whining about that friggen curse

Maybe let them win next year. Then it would be the end of the "100-year curse". Or not.

I dunno.
He's been GM 13 years, but the Cardinals clearly want to develop more talent from within, and Jocketty didn't like the direction that DeWitt and company were going. It was most likely a matter that they "agreed to disagree" and that was that. Jocketty from what I've seen in the STL media hasn't very happy this year.
The change will do both good (I think)
You?

Haha, I love this... Cardinals fans coming together in a completely non-baseball venue, and in a Cubs thread no less! :D
I have mixed feelings on Jocketty because I felt that he did do good things. But the stories are mixed on what his vision for the future was, and I am sure we will never know the whole reason why he is "out"
But for the future, if this means that Tony goes too, I hope they give Oquendo a shot. I think he has earned it, and I think he will be a good "players" manager.

You won't get any symphony from me. I'm a life long White Sox fan who grew up 2 blocks from Piggly Field. Cubs Fans NEVER have a good thing to say about the White Sox,even in 2005 when the Sox were World Series Champs
One more Loss and your DONE. Then the cubs new slogan can be"Even If It Takes 200 Years" Go Arizona put the Cubs out of their misery
2005 WORLD SERIES CHAMPIONS THE CHICAGO WHITE SOX !!!!!

WRONG,you must not be a Cubs fan from Chicago, they Never stop Opening their Big Mouths bad Mouthing the White Sox whenever they can.
I remember after the White Sox Won the 2005 World Series, which the Cubs will never win for another 100yrs,all the Big Mouth Cubs fans could say was that the Sox got lucky
The Cubs,LOSERS,Their New Slogan'Even If It Takes 200Years"

Sorry Crusher. You knew the misery you were in for when you signed on as a Cubbie fan. Hey,I feel your pain. I'm a Gator and Braves fan,so I know how that "Wait til next year" deal feels. Thank God for a World Series,13 divisional champs,THREE back to back to back National Championships and a bunch of SEC Championships lately. Someday it may happen, but this ain't your year. When your pitching can't close out the worst hitting team in the bigs(D-Backs .250 avg) you know the Big Guy upstairs ain't a Cub fan.
