Use any dish detergent that cuts through grease.

I've never known what Dawn was, apart from being the name of a girl who lived down the road and who I fancied like crazy back when I was 10 or 11 years old.
I assumed it was a brand of dish detergent so I've used that. Does the job. Regardless of the brand name, anything that is used to wash your dinner plate is ok (dishwasher powder/tablets excluded).

Actually you can't do that because you would need a heating element suspended in the water so as to keep it at a warm temperature. If you simply left your ball in a bucket of what initially was warm water then it would go cold after a while so you would just be soaking your ball in cold water which wouldn't be beneficial in any way as if it was, we'd all do it and save money by not using power to heat the water in the first place.

Uh,TenPin you gotta change out the water every half hour. Otherwise it just goes cold and the ball will resoak some of the oil back into it.

Should I give it another 20 minute bath before league tonight to get the little oil it may have soaked up over night.

Honestly, it doesn't. I used to cover mine, but for the past 3 months I haven't been. There's no difference in anything.

I gave my ball a bath on saturday night does it matter if I do again tonight for twenty minutes? Figuring I gave it an overnight bath and some of the oil may have been soaked up again.

Last Week on Thurs. Rowdy did his BWP and the BWS. It took him about 4 hours total but the dawn worked great and you could se the oil coming out of the ball. Yeah he did change the water every 20 mins. to half hour. And no he didn't cover the finger holes. Those got nice and clean too. So I know it doesn;t hurt them. All he basicly does is put the 5 gallon bucket in the tub, put his ball in and cover it with hot water then add the dawn so it don't sud up. And repat until you don't see the film on the water anymore . It really works. But make sure your wife or GF don't need the shower first.

How soon after the "bath" can the ball be used? Does the ball absorb any of the water?
Thanks,
jp

jp A lot of people like to let it sit for at least a half an hour before u use it again. I always like to have it sit for 13+ hours before i bowl again with it.

Yea, i usually give it a night to fully dry out, i just feel like its all the way dry that way.

I put a paper towel down in the finger holes a couple of times to dry 'em out. I wait until the ball feels like it's back to room temp before I roll with it. No,the ball doesn't absorb any water. Stick a towel in the bottom of your bag and by the time you get to the lanes anything you missed will have drained out on the ride. I also leave the bag open and aim an A/C vent at it to cool the balls down. Since it takes at least a half hour to get to the lanes the balls are ready to go once we get there.

I have bowled with mine in less than an hour and other time they have 24hr or more to dry.

Great to know. I thought it would need a few days to dry out but since it doesn't absorb any water I guess not. :)
Thanks,

Really don't know what the safe temp is heating or warming up a ball. But using the hottest water from the tap is going to be be well over 100 degrees, maybe even upwards of the 120-140 depending on the water heater. (I could be wrong I have never measured the temp.)
The spinner is for surface changes, resurfacing and polishing.
Some shops have the typical spinner, other also have a Haus type machine, these have three pads. They typically will provide a factory type of finish. The do not seem to polish as well as spinners, due to speed. Pressure and heat also contribute to polishing. Have also used water to help polish, seems to help get the shine.
Let is know if you have any other questions, happy to help.

All the Rejuvanator is,is a low temp oven for the ball. You do have to let the ball cool completely before you can roll with it. Spinners have a bunch of different uses and a Haus machine DOES put on a finish that is the same,if not better than a ball spinner. A spinner puts on a directional pattern into the ball, while the Haus puts a non-directional polish on the ball. I think it's more of a personal preference deal.

Rejuvanator machine heard that the temps of this machine are around 130 degrees, btw.
The haus type machines can shine a balls but they dont seem to put the same shine on a balls as spinner. Most proshops will use a spinner to polish a ball unless asked other wise, around here anyways from my experience. The best shine I have ever seen came from a big buff wheel on a bench grinder... oneside polishes and the other for buffing in. Proshop would used gloves loaded up with polish, place polish on the ball... let it rip. He said, that he lost a couple of balls learning, so did the new employees. The shine was mirror.
