I had a horrible night. I couldn't find a line at all. I bowled a 121, 125, and an 85!!! I bowled Thursday eve, Friday night, Saturday eve, and again in leagues tonight...is it possible to over-bowl???? I wanted to get used to the new BWP before I showed up for leagues, but tonight was terrible! The lanes were pretty dry, but I bowled last eve. on pretty dry lanes and did really well....what should I do????

The best thing to do is forget about tonight. it's done and overwith. We all have had nights like that. Don't let it play on your mind the next time you step on the approach. Forget it, relax / stay focused / don't try to hard / and have fun. The harder you try if the night isn't going well the worst things get. Even the slightest thing on your mind other than bowling will have an impact on your game.

I guess I just expected a lot more out of myself, especially after 130s 150s and 160s over the weekend. I also had to contend with my 2 boys tonight and I won't have to on Wednesday. I'll let you know how I do Wed...hopefully better!

You know what you are capeable of and you can do it. you already proved that to yourself. Like I said the slightest distraction will have an impact on your game, and watching your two sons while nowling takes some concentration away. You will do better on Wed,

I think that since most of us do not have coaches that bowling more does not always equate to bowling better. Sometimes I know I will develop a weird mechanical glitch in my approach, swing or release and the more I bowl the worse it gets.
Have someone in proshop watch you throw a few shots. You might not be walking a straight line and thus even if you hit your mark you are doomed. Or, you might do what I do and not follow through or pull up at the line so the ball does not do what it always seemed to do before.

That's where I belong. My 5 year old bowls in a bumper league, then wonders why he can sometimes beat me!!!!!!

Well, the problem with that is...the place I normally bowl has no pro, nor a pro shop. Where I got the ball has a pro and a shop and I bowled well there. I went to Demo Days last weekend and got some instruction, and I was doing everything as right as I do it. I had my husband watch me, and I watched him, neither one of us could get it together. I'm not sure if the lack of oil coupled with the real wood lanes (vs. synthetic we bowled well at Saturday) had anything to do with it. I thought the lanes were dry (home bowling alley) Friday night, but no where near as bad as last night. I just don't know what was up. Of course, part of my husband's problem is learning to bowl with his NMB which is drilled WAY differently than his Storm Passion was, but he is a cranker, and is more accurate with the NMB. We were hitting our marks, it just wasn't working out.
Also, maybe someone can help me with the mechanic of this...Walking straight to the line. I have been told that if your ball misses the pocket to the left, then you need to move left and throw across your normal mark...mine happens to be the second arrow from the right. How on earth unless you have ape arms are you supposed to do that and still walk to the line straight? This, to me, is the million dollar question. What I had been doing is angle myself more toward the 10 pin and walk at an angle, but that's not right??? Help!
