Well Im consedering this. Since all it does is sit in my bag now. I dont know what layout it has on it but I seems very tame. I want to use the strong layout (drill #3). My question is: Is this a good Idea? and Does anyone have thier Black Widow drilled #3?

Mine is drilled to go very long and alot of back end. What conditions do yhou usually bowl on. You don't want a strong drill for bone dry lanes unlessw you can controll the big hook. If the ball is not reacting like you expect it to with the current drill, try putting more hand or consider an X Hole to get the ball to react more. Adjust the surface also. But then if that does not work , talk to you proshop guy anjd have hime recurface and clean it and then use the #3 drill pattern

He lofts it about 7 feet out and throws HARD! He rolled with Tink and I Saturday and our house has oil,his just had the lanes resurfaced, but it was always known as a dry house. I haven't seen the place since the work,so I can't tell you what the lanes are like now. Rumor is they are still dry.

BTW-Neo couldn't get any hook at all Sat nite. He was always right of the pocket. Just so you know. But I think this is more of a speed and alignment deal.

Being the house was just bresurfaced, it sounds like a speed and move issue to me also. After a resurvace the lanes are usually tighter than normal. Try moving your feet 5 boards to the right (IF YOU ARE RIGHT HANDED) and move the mark outside 2-3 boards and use a little less speed.

Bubba,I don't think that Neo KNOWS what less speed is!!!!:D I was trying to get him to move right and throw at the 3 pin. There was enough hook he woulda been in the pocket. All that speed would have taken care of the rest.

yeah rowdy got it right. For some reason I cant slow myself down. And When I do slow down I miss my mark. I talked to my driller and he said just to redrill it since we have tryed most of the things. And the drill sheet says that #3 is for faster ball speeds.

WOULD TAKE ALOT OF REACTION OFF BALL ESPECIALLY IF IF'S NOT SMOOTH LOFT AND MORE OF PLOP ON LANE.MY NEED TO LAY DOWN EARLIER,JUST THOUGHT:cool:

I was lofting saturday night because I pulled a muscle in my throwing arm and It was hurting.

All the more reason to try slowing that ball down some. I tried to tell you that you couldn't overpower those lanes. With the pattern that was down unless you roll up outside the 7 board it's all oil inside that.

I have my BWS drilled #3 and love it...The lines U can play are multiple..I can roll up the 5 and in or I can go middle lane out to 5 and still hit the pocket..medium revs around 17 mph I am RH..Just started using it again while my pearl is being redrilled...

I had one laid out similar. It was 3 3/4 PtoP and MB was 60deg. With that PtoP it wants to start early and then layoff. The MB farther away from 45deg helps it make a turn later. If you do that, don’t take the cover down to much, because it will burn up.

Mine's pretty much a #3 drill also. I don't get a smooth landing either but I don't think I could pitch it 7' if I wanted to. I Stand w/ right foot on 15 and lay it straight up the 10. make small adjustments as needed. If I try moving right past the 5 board I start leaving 10's. #3 working fine for me. Hope the arm heals soon!
