Local men's handicap league divides the season into quarters with the winner of each quarter facing off at the end of the year. No team can win two quarters, so it gives everyone a pretty good chance - normally.
Last night my team "The X Factor" had a roll-off with a team that tied us for first for the first quarter, best two out of three games. We knew we had to bowl our butts off because these birds had a 243 pin handicap great than ours. Their total H.C. was 387. The anchor sported a 73 H.C. We lost the first one by 70 pins, but won the second by 105 and lost the last by 45. Sux.
But, after some four frames in the first game and moving around, my BW didn't cut it on the lanes. So, I pulled out the No Mercy and finished with a good, for me, series of 542. I don't throw fast but when the NM hit the pocket, the pins exploded off the deck. I heard some oohs and ahhs from the other team. Like they say: "Nothing Hits Like a Hammer."
