Is $40 a normal price for drilling?

the pro shop back at home and the one here at college both charge $40 so I'd say thats normal. I've heard about a place back at home that charged $60 which is a good reason why i cant remember which place it was.

We charge $40 plus grips if you dont buy the ball from us. If you do buy from us, its just $15 for inserts and slug. There is a guy up the road a bit who charges $75 plus inserts

I think for me with inserts it comes out to be 60. Its 45 then inserts are 15.

Where I got my ball it's $40 (if you don't get the ball there) and $15 for grips. Mine was $25 because I got the switch grip, which I highly recommend. At least I think it was $40, it could have been less because I was looking at getting my Maxim plugged and drilled fingertip, maybe that was $40...or $45. But I would say thereabouts, so that sounds about right to me.

I paid $50 for my spare to be drilled with grips and slug. $35 if you use no inserts or slugs.

Around where I live the prices vary according to the pro shop. On place is $50 and inserts and slug is extra. Another charged $25. Another $30. So I would say $40 isn't bad price to pay. If the pro shop is reputable it is well worth what you pay.

Remember, you get what you pay for. A guy that charges 20-25 must not be very "proud of his work" I spend thousands of dollars each year on continuing education and people expect me to give away my services. Depending on who in my shop drills the ball then the price is figured out from there. My Rookie ball driller gets $ 25.(He can hit the lines but really doesn't have any layout experience), and it goes up from there.

I charge 40.00 myself.

I have checked into 4 shops around here and just got lucky that the cheapest guy is also a great driller. He doesn't mind internet balls at all and charges $45 w/ grips & thumb slug. The other 3 are $60, $60, and $70. And *very* "anti-internet".

It all comes down to where you are in the country and how much compitition there is around. I can get a ball drilled around Charleston,SC with grips and slugs for between $35 to $60. All the balls will be the same when done. What's the difference in price? One is if the pro shop is leasing the space their in from the lanes. They have to charge a little more to cover the rent. Another reason would be if the lanes own the pro shop and set the price. It'll be cheaper there because there's no rent to pay and the lanes want you to keep coming there for whatever you need. Plus you'll get a good price if you roll in a couple of leagues there. You guys in the Northeast and out West will pay more because of the cost of living is higher there. If there's only one pro shop for miles and miles around, you kinda held hostage. Sure you could drive a long way and get it done cheaper, but the gas you burn will more than offset any savings. Just try to find the bestest for the leastest.

I charge 40.00 +8.95 for grips+8.95 for thumb slugs if the ball was purchased elsewhere,if they purchase it from me the cost is 0.00 for drilling which includes grips or slug,if you use grips and a slug you pay 10.00 extra.People CAN NOT expect to buy a ball elsewhere and have me drill it without making what I would normally make on the ball if I sold it.Also,I dont add anything to the price of the ball to cover the drilling.I DO NOT sell any balls over 200.00 except the Lane #1 balls, which,in my opinion are WAY OVERPRICED anyway.

I buy my slugs and inserts locally $5 and $12 respectively. Driller charges $45 for drilling all three holes or $10 or $15 for re-thumbing.

Street - I may be in touch next time I need inserts ;)
