I was having trouble with the finger grips being too tight, had them changed went 1/2 size bigger. Now they are too loose. the others I could not get my fingers half way in to the first knuckle. Do all manufactures have standerd sizes or could switching brands help. As is I have trouble getting enough lift or releise. Smug grips helps me with that problem.

I am in the same boat with my ring finger. In-between sizes. So I have my driller use a bevel sander to buzz the grip a little bit so that it fits right. I have to do that with every ball. Not sure about changing companies, I have only used black Vise grips.

Put in the smaller ones and have 'em opened up til they fit you. You might try looking at a different brand. Turbo's don't fit me,but Vise grips do.

Next time I take my ball i for grips I'm going to try the Vacuum grip approach. I like a very snug fit, but my fingers expand and contract with temperature changes. This should afford me a nice snug fit most of the time. Maybe it's something you should look into.

Ok try this, put in the smaller one but before you do, use a bevel knife and open up the sides (only the sides) of the hole. When you glue it, just glue the top and bottom. When your finger goes in, it will expand to the sides that are cut out to allow for swelling. Have been doing this for years and it works gr8

Yep mine have to opened up with the bevel sander on most or all colors of Vise Grips.
On the Vacuum you drill the hole the next size bigger about halfway down? Then do you glue the grips to the smaller part or both?

You glue it to the smaller part. The larger part has to be able to expand and contract. You guys dont need to buy those, Just do it yourself or have your ball driller do it. Remember, the grip will always go back to its original size for when hands are cold or shrunk. And they will expand when swelled when given the room. You dont want to go more than 1/32 or maybe 1/16 at the most. It doesnt take as much as you may think. Also, you only need to have them go down about 3/8 to 1/2 in with the bigger drill if you use the vise grips. Leave the bottom at the 31/32 (for most grips up to size 8) so the grip can be easily installed as usual

Did you ever try a ball without them? I bet you would like the feel much better. Actually feeling the ball gives you more of a consistantfeel than grips in my opinion.

Which inserts are you using? Vise and Turbo Quads for example use a 31/32 hole drilled into the ball whereas Tenth Frame inserts use a hole size of 61/64.

I have been using Vise grips. "Vacuum grips" is that a brand name or system of drilling top of hole a tad larger the bottom of hole?
