Just wondering how many members are within reasonably driving distance from Pennsylvania.I am considering putting together a Breast Cancer Awareness fund raiser. My sister,Who is 50 years old is a survivor of this sometimes deadly disease, and really would like to do something to help out others. Any thoughts or ideas would be greatly appreciated.

Greenridge, that a great idea and I will deffinately participate.
A bowling fundraiser is a great way to raise money for Breast Cancer awarness! First of all, it’s a lot of fun. Second of all, people of all ages can participate, you could haver a team event , singles or doubles.
To make this successful, you have to start by creating a lot of publicity. The more people that know about it, the more funds you can raise and donations you can get.
The easiest way is to charge an amount for each team, single bowler or doubles team. In order to be able to obtain a price to charge, you will need to negotiate with your proprietor.. Perhaps they can donate a time slot, or give you a discounted rate? After all, you will be bringing in possibly new clients, and giving them free promotion and exposure. This is a definite advantage to the bowling alley, for it will help them build up their image as well as their clientele.
Try to collect the entry fee for each team, singles or doubles in advance. This way you can ensure that you will make money regardless if everyone shows up or not.
While people are bowling, entertain them! You can also have a raffle, giving out prizes that you collect from local sponsors. Even if the gifts are small (free bowling passes, for example), it will contribute to a fun atmosphere.
When people get the munchies, you can sell other items at the fundraiser that will help you generate more profit, such as candy bars, popcorn, pretzels and hot dogs and soda. alot of bowling alleys have a restaurant or concession stand. In this case, perhaps you can try to negotiate a percentage of the concession sales you could contact the pizza parlor in your lanes.
To get a competitive atmosphere going, have the bowlers compete for the highest game and the best team. To make it funny, you can also get them to compete for the lowest game. Of course, you would only announce the winners at the end, but you could let people know how they are doing along the way. Make sure to have some prizes for all these winners. As with the raffle gifts, the prizes can be donated from local sponsors or the bowling alley itself!

Grrenridge if you run a Breast cancer awareness bowling event you Must promote it as Bowl for the Cure. Then any fundrasing events must abide by all applicable laws, and fille post or obtain all required bonds, releases, registrations, permits, consents , liscences, and approvals.
Here's an idea just in time for the Holidays. Set up a Christmass tree in your center. Decorate it with Pink stockings, decorations, and offer them for sale. You coould probably get donations from local bussines's for the stuff on the tree. personalize them if possible with the name of peole you know and loved ones who have survived or lost their battle to breast cancer.
